Enjoyed this hotel, to upgrade to a suite is very affordable and worth doing. The hotel recommended a driver who was excellent and gave us many tips on how to deal with hawkers etc. the room looked directly across the town to thenTaj Mahal which was excellent.
Shower good, bathroom good, bed comfy, pillows ok, restaurant food amazing, service fabulous and friendly, location amazing, towels ok. Location was noisy as huge amount of honking horn traffic but I imagine this cant be avoided. Breakfast was great with the staff being very accommodating when making food to order, clearly taking delight in our willingness to try all Indian breakfast delicacies.

3 star pretending to be 5*. Room OK as we had view of Taj Mahal, but food was overpriced and bland. Lacked imagination.
Welcome was satisfactory and staff were attentive.
We paid equivalent of £20 on arrival for a buffet lunch which wasn't worth £10.

Room Tip: Ask for a Taj facing room, although this will also be directly above the road, so noisy.

The property is nice. Quite a few rooms have a view of the Taj Mahal at a distance. The rooms are also decent. Front desk was very helpful and accomodative during my visit. The restaurant could have had better variety of food during the breakfast/lunch buffet.

Room Tip: Request for rooms with a view of the Taj Mahal while checking in.

We only stayed for one night as we were heading to the Taj Mahal and the Fort the following morning.

Our stay was therefore very brief.

A lovely welcome and quick check in followed by a free upgrade to a room overlooking the Taj. As it was dark when we arrived sadly we had no view (just a quick glimpse the following morning).

Whilst the upgrade was appreciated it did mean that our room was at the front of the hotel. The traffic and general noise from outside continued well into the morning and then commenced again from around 5am with the community announcements/call to prayer. If you're a light sleeper then it may be best to ask for a room at the back.

The rooms were certainly on the small side and rather dated. Very clean and comfortable though. After a long drive from Delhi I fancied some crisps but the two packets in the room were over a year past their use by date !

The main restaurant was rather busy but just not appealing. Even my colleague, who really doesn't like Indian food, decided that he'd rather try the Indian restaurant which looked much better.

The food was ok, nothing more. Service wasn't much better. Largely ignored to start with, the staff had a bit of an attitude. To be fair this improved markedly during the meal but then we were asked to fill in a survey form whilst the waiter stood over us encouraging us to be nice.

Breakfast the following morning was a rushed affair for us but it was fine. Again, nothing outstanding but enough to keep us going.

The place is apparently five star but this is stretching it and certainly doesn't compare with the five star Trident in Gurgaon (which isn't much more expensive). Given the noise, the dated rooms and average level of service and food I think three star is more appropriate.

For a brief stop on the way to the Taj though it was absolutely fine.

Room Tip: If you value your sleep then a room away from the main road is a must. If you're not disturbed b...

This Taj hotel s very welcoming and has plenty of most pleasant staff to do this: from security at the gate all the way up to the very present and always supervising management. This is a rel plus for ths hotel. The rooms are somewhat smaller compared to similar hotels but the bathrooms are definitely tiny and as in most Taj hotels: all the doors open into the bathroom, so there is hardly any space left to manouvre. Dear Taj: please let the bathroomdoors open into the corridor!
The location is great, because on one side you walk straight into the life of India and its streets, whereas on the backside there is a garden, a beautiful pool and an oasis in the center of town. If you book a hotel in town in India you mst be prepared for noise: behind the hotel are oe or two mosques, in front of the hotel two or three tempels. Fireworks are an almost daily reoccurence, but noise seldom crosses the 22.00-23.00 hrs deadline.
Food is very good in both restaurants and prices reasonable.
All in all a very good hotel.

Rooms were not as clean or updated as our other hotels during our stay in India. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. A wedding celebration with three rounds of fireworks throughout the night disrupted our sleep as did the honking from the street. We had a street side room so perhaps those disruptions would not be a problem for a room in the rear of the hotel. Breakfast buffet was good. We didn't eat in any of the hotel restaurants but had a room service omelet and toast which was perfect for tired travelers with a wobbly stomach!

This was the only modern hotel that we stayed in during our trip to India. It was OK and we only tried the international restaurant and that was fine. The indian restaurant also looked good. The rooms have a mini-bar so watch what you are charged for although we had no problem
