The Trident has a large, pleasant lobby, where we were welcomed with a drink and informal check-in. It was Diwali, so the lobby was decorated with pools of beautiful flowers.
We had a deluxe room which overlooked the garden and lovely outdoor pool area. It was a typical 4* room layout, but with a very large and comfortable bed.
All the staff were cheerful, helpful and provided excellent service. Their level of training was self evident and the hotel benefits from a central tipping policy (what a relief) where tips to individual staff are not encouraged. Food was excellent, with a buffet breakfast and dinner offering plenty of choice. Unfortunately we only stayed one night here in our three week India tour, but the Trident provided the benchmark against which we judged the rest and proved to be one of the best.More
