The hotel looks better in the pictures that what it actually is. The rooms are good but give you an over all impression of being a bit tacky. Was told that the Hotel is just 2 years old but surely everything looks much older. Not definitely a 5 star . The food was below par not only for the price but also for variety. I had overseas Italian guests with me and the only food that was available was a very strange buffet menu served in the open OR a fine dining Indian which we did not want to have. My most embarrassing moment was the wine List. Only Indian. I regretted offering a bottle over the meal. The location is perfect being only a 10 minute drive to the Taj.

Room Tip: Ask for garden view rooms on the ground floor.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for choosing to stay with Wyndham Grand, Agra and for sharing your experience on Trip Advisor.

We have not been able to exceed your expectations but have learnt a lot from your feedback and will definately work on improving our selves where we need to.

We sincerely wonder how you did not see the international cuisine restaurant and why did you find the muticuisine buffet menu strange. Provision of Indian wine list is not a mistake as Indian wines quality has been improving and many of our foreign guests do prefer having Indian wines unlike many of us Indians who would even praise foreign table wines rather than having Indian wines.

We are still always committed to consistently providing warm and efficient service to our guests

Regards,

Wyndham Grand Agra Team

Very impressive great location a few minutes from the Taj Mahal.
I couldn't help feeling I was in a 5 star hotel in Dubai the lobby is grand and beautiful very nice gardens in the centre of a huge complex of rooms a real luxury feel about the place.
Excellent staff and spacious rooms. Would like to go back and spend more time there!

Let me start by saying that the hotel was clean and fine to stay at.... but the service was terrible. We had booked for the Friday night but our circumstances changed and we used the 'free alternate date' service they had. We asked our booking agency to ring them which they did and then told us everything had been confirmed. We did this three times because they kept hanging up on our guide. Finally he spoke to them in English and they said everything was fine. when we got there we were told that we didn't confirm in writing and that we were listed as a no-show, and had to pay again. We weren't even offered complimentary dinner or even free internet.
Ohhhhh and the pool was GREEN... not even a little bit green, totally gone and un-swimmable... but they didn't see this as an issue?

Dear Guest,

Really disappointed to hear that we have let you down because we did not offer you free dinner or internet. Also the team charged you for staying with us. We are also surprised that your travel agency told you that we have a policy of 'free alternate date' service.

Request you to not trust such agencies in future without having things in black & white, wherever you travel.

We hope to see you in the future and exceed your expectations also.

Warm regards,

Wyndham Grand Agra Team

We stayed at the Wyndham Grand in Agra for two nights and three days. To start with, all of us loved the property...even though some parts of it were under construction at the time. It's well spread out with lovely gardens. The rooms are large, well appointed and yet cosy somehow at the same time. The bathrooms are spacious too. There is a bit of a walk to the pool but it's not an unpleasant walk given that you have well lit (in the dark) pathways and nicely manicured gardens and lawns to keep you company.

The staff is courteous and helpful and will make honest attempts to ensure availability of anything that you need for a comfortable stay. And they always do it with a smile. They had thoughtfully provided brollies in each section on account of the fact that it was still very much the monsoons when we stayed.

Our package included breakfast and one major meal of the day. The breakfast spread is not eye popping but is more than adequate for the average guest. There's a decent selection of breads, cakes, fruits and cold cuts. There are the usual eggs to order, scrambled eggs, hash browns, sun dried tomatoes, etc. For those with a decidedly more Indian inclination when it comes to food habits there are the usual suspects - idli, vada, sambhar...maybe even poori bhaji. The buffet spread is again a multi-cuisine one and will cover most taste buds. Quality needless to say is as good as in any of the five-star properties.

As for the final verdict: If you're not on the lookout for super high-end luxury then Wyndham Grand is definitely recommended. Don't think you'll come back with a nasty experience (exceptions notwithstanding). A bonus is that it is relatively close to the South Gate of the Taj Mahal, which is the least crowded of all the Taj entrances.

Happy travels!...:)

This is a big style international hotel, which is actually the opposite of what we normally go for.

It turned out to be a perfect choice. The hotel is big, clean, luxurious and has plenty to offer. When we stayed we practically had the massive swimming pool to ourselves. It was nice as Agra itself, aside from the obvious, doesn't have too much to offer. We spent most of the morning and early afternoon doing the sights, but when they ran dry came back to the hotel to enjoy the swimming pool, complimentary spa area etc which was just perfect in the hot weather. If we were in a smaller hotel, we could have perhaps got a little cabin fever as we didn't feel that there was to much else to do in Agra.

Food was very good.

If we went back to Agra I would certainly consider staying at the Wyndham Grand again, or look for another large style hotel given that we would likely make use of a swimming pool...

Transfers were a little more expensive than usual, but the standard of car that you have to journey in was much better than what the locals had to offer.

Lovely entrance, but worned out rooms only three years after the hotel was built.
Lack of building skills, the details wer poorly done. It seemed that the hotel had a "black economy" since for example the IT-guy asked if we wanted to pay in cash directly or wanted it to be put up on the bill and so fort.
The staff had unclean dresses, and the room was rather dirty and a lot of things were missing, for example hotelinformation. The service was so and so, sometimes good, sometimes bad.
Lovely poolarea!

Room Tip: Make sure to be close to the mainbuilding.

Nice and atmospheric luxury hotel with traditionally decorated rooms. The architecture and Indian atmosphere is amazing. It makes you feel like a maharaja. I especially liked the small courtyard in the building where our room was.

The rooms were average and the bathroom left us unimpressed. Food in the restaurant was tasty but expensive. The breakfast is extensive and good.

Unfortunately we only saw the pool after we checked out, it looked really great.
