“lovely beds”
Reviewed August 2, 2012

Only stayed one night and we were both ill from food poisioning which we got in Jaipur. Both being very ill we managed to visit the Thaj and that was it. I spent 24hr in bed, the bed is lovely, large bed with a great comfortable mattress and pillows.

Only small niggles were that we arrived in tuk tuk, we had to leave it at the gate nd drah our luggage ourselves within the grounds - no one offered to help which was annoying when suffering from Dehli belly!

Breakfast offering looked great but I was to ill to sample it but they had a good selection to cater for all tastes and markets.

We, 2 couples, had a lovely stay at the Radisson. Big room, excellent bed and the restaurant is great. Hotel is very close to the Taj Mahal, 1,5 km. and they have a free shuttle to the Taj.
It would have been nice if the breakfast was included in the price and not apart, it looks more friendly
One remark, if you take a taxi to the trainstation make sure you have the exact amount of money with you as the driver will say that he can't change money. If your are in a hurry, as we did, that is not a nice experience

Room Tip: we had a bussiness class room on the fourth floor, room 426, on the corner wich was a nice room

Starting with the check-in process, well it was real quick & swift. Rooms are good but not so spacious. Room service is also decent. It is really really close to Taj Mahal (approx 1 km). Staff is really warm & co-operative. Quality & Service of Buffet Breakfast was nice. We had a special dinner called Daawat-e-nawab, it is just mind blowing at a very very low price. Overall experience was pleasant. Only one complaint, the toiletries in the room were of inferior quality, in Radisson one expects brands like Forest Essential, but it was some Chinese brand, it was of inferior quality.

The hotel can boast of a nice ambience with a good infrastructure and an overall decor. It is amongst the few 5 star resorts closest to the Taj ( the other being Amarvillas). The facilities are pretty good and the rooms are well made up. The swimming pool, steam, sauna facility and the spa are also really good

The food at Radisson is terrible. My advise for fellow travellers is to dine at some place other than Radisson. There is a nice place called Pinch of Spice a few miles away to which you can go by paying a mere Rs 40 to the auto-wallahs outside Radisson. I found the food much better at that place.

The staff is un-professional . I went to the hotel restaurant called Latitude for dinner and it turned out to be a nightmare. Being a vegetarian, my wife ordered veg lasgane. But the dish was no where to be seen in the first 45 minutes. After several protests it was served, but to our horror the dish on the plate was non vegetarian even when we had clearly told of our vegetarian preference.

The manager then came up to us asked us to forget about the order we had placed and eat the buffet instead. It was forceful and we felt that we were being literally pushed to eat the overpriced buffet. On approaching the reception we were told that the food would be sent to our room along with complimentary buffet dinner.

What they sent to the room was a badly prepared veg lasagne, some cold dal, some cold sabji and a few cold and hard tandoori rotis. Basically the leftovers from the buffet was put in front of us. The disgusting staff literally forced us to eat the bad food.

Room Tip: Please visit the room before selecting.... Better to choose a room facing the swimming pool. My room...

Dear Sir

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for staying with us at Radisson Hotel Agra, Taj East Gate Road. However, it concerns us immensely that you have left our shores with a negative impression in particular with regards to all Food & Beverage related issues you faced in our hotel.

Our hotel prides itself at providing rooms with an atmosphere of peace and tranquility, great services and great food to the discerning business travelers.

Rest assured that we are working with our team to address the issue to ensure that we are able to handle the situation better in future.

Thank you once again for your constructive feedback and support. I trust you will give us another chance to show that this was an isolated incident and is not indicative of the usually high level of service we offer at Radisson Hotels.

Reassuring you of our best services always

Sincerely,
Rahul Joshi

If you want a quick escape from the busy streets of India this is the place to go.

We were shocked by the quality of the room, the comfy beds, amazing food and beautiful interiors of the hotel.

Also in monsoon season we got a room for $60 per night in canadian dollars!

I would highly recommend any traveller who is visiting taj mahal to stay here

We stayed 2 nights with our family of 4 (includes 2 girls, 10 and 5). We had reserved a Twin room but were shown a King, had to push to get a Twin. Main restaurant limited options for kids and pizza oven was out, dinner buffet didn't open until 7:30pm. Nice pool, well-appointed rooms, property just 1km from East gate of the Taj Mahal but nothing else nearby.

Being an avid traveler and having stayed at almost every property Radisson (and many others) offers in India and outside, I'll have to rate this as perhaps my best "experience"!! You won't find anything extravagant about Radisson Agra, nothing you haven't witnessed before but the sheer hospitality and warmth with which the staff (from the durbaans to the housekeeping to the room service to the Managers to Nawaabs, yes there was a Nawaab!) treats you is bound to stay with you for a long time (at least till you find another experience to compare it with).
I stayed here for 2 nights and 3 days and was impressed by the cosy room, supremely comfortable bed (a highlight I must say!), chic bathroom and shower, prompt room service (including housekeeping) and friendly staff. The dinner at Dawat-e-Nawab is a must try for every 'Awadhi' food lover or anyone who needs a taste of the Mughal delicacies and cuisine.
A tad expensive, yes, the breakfast and in-room dining menu could do with more variety and a flexible price range.
Since it's super close to the Taj Mahal and the Agra Fort (which one must visit), I'd love to see the hotel do something special for the couples staying there (a romantic candle-light by the pool or a couple's spa)!
On an unrelated note, for anyone visiting Agra, a visit to the Agra Fort must be a must and the view of the Taj Mahal from the Fort is mesmerizing...
I look forward to spending another weekend at Radisson, Agra!!!

Room Tip: Any Deluxe Room would do for two adults!
