“Quite place to see the Taj”
Reviewed April 26, 2013

I allways recommend this place to visit at the time of sunset or before that. It is very different view of Taj from this side of the river and moreover here nobody to disturb you or distract you. You can quitely sit here in one corner or on the grass or on the wall. It is sad that river most of the time is low. But during floods Taj looks more beautifull with reflection of it in river Yamuna.

“Different side for Viewing Tajmahal”
Reviewed April 24, 2013

Mehtab Bagh- "The Moon Light Garden" was originally laid by Mughal king Babur. This is more known as the foundation of Black Tajmahal, which according to Historians is a Myth.
It's very sad to see the place of this kind being ignored up to this extend.
Tourist mostly prefer to see Tajmahal early Morning. Viewing Tajmahal in dusk from Mehtab bagh can be a good option. Many people prefer to see Taj both early Sunrise and Sunset, rather going there 2 times, sunset from Mehtab bagh can be a very good option, as they can save their entrance by paying Just INR 100 instead of INR 750, other thing you can skip big crowd that come during Sunset for Taj especially during Weekends.
Being very close to nature, and river flowing very close to the boundary, it gives you very relaxing feeling. Its advisable for photographs avoid going in extreme corners under tree, as 1000's of crows fly at that place so they drops a lot, creating mess.
This place is also ideal for travellers who arrived late to Agra, and want to spend some time in relax without doing any real Sightseen.
If you coming from Delhi through Express way, then you can make a stop here, for this you dont have to go really off the route.
If you want me to do any changes then pls do write to me-
Harsh Agarwal.

“Agra - Mehtab Bagh - You now pay to stand on the other side of the river.”
Reviewed April 24, 2013

We wouldn't have missed seeing the sunset from the banks of the river opposite the Taj Mahal but as the sun doesn't really set over or behind the Taj Mahal, having to pay to stand on a river bank is really milking the Taj Mahal itself for all it is worth. The site of the changing colours of the Taj Mahal as the sun goes down is excellent and it was really calm and beautiful to view from across the river but something still sticks in that we had to pay 100 INR. It's not the amount but the fact the authorities seem to charge for a view, not a visit but a view. It must be me. Still we had a great time and it is worth the money to visit this spot so please forget my little whinge. Don't expect any specific standing area or seats etc, only a river bank to stand on a view this spectacular monument. Well worth a visit.

“Dilapidated garden offering the best view of the Taj”
Reviewed April 16, 2013

Babur's garden across the Yamuna is in a terribly neglected shape. But fortunately, it offers the best view of the Taj Mahal with the Yamuna river flowing in the foreground. It's away from the crowds and clutter and the painfully long queus at the main venue. The black plinth of the supposed site of Shah Jahan's own tomb can also be seen there but that is controversial.
