Received a very professional, courteous welcome from all of the staff, who couldn't do enough to help during my stay. The reception staff were particularly helpful, especially Poiyanka, who suggested places of interest.
The house staff were great in immediately sorting out problems with the t.v. and safe - problems I created for myself!

The hotel is comfortable, well appointed and is in a great location for the Fort and Taj.

The swimming pool is a great extra as is the spa facility.

I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Stayed at this hotel for one night as part of an arranged tour of the Golden Triangle by G Adventures, it was okay, shower didn't work in the room, wifi didn't work in the rooms and was extremely slow in the lobby where there was a connection, can't comment on food as we didn't eat at the hotel and checked out before breakfast had started, I think for a comfort hotel it is on the basic side and improvements are required. Staff were friendly although all in all a disappointing stay

Stayed here for 3 sleepless nights (family of 4). There is a wedding venue opposite the hotel so that was our first sleepless night. The next two sleepless nights were down to a water pump within the hotel whirring away.
Our room was very spacious, clean and well equipped. The 'rain shower' head wasn't working to its full potential, I'd say a handful of holes ejecting water. This was mentioned to reception and it was fixed. The bedroom flooring was coming away leaving quite sharp edges. The door stop was basically a screw sticking up out of the floor! The toilet flush was all but hanging off the wall.
The food quality was poor, not always fresh, in fact after our first evening meal experience we decided only to eat breakfast and dine at the lovely restaurant next door. No alcoholic beverages available.
The swimming pool was not a pleasant area - smelt of garbage and bad drainage. Think it was a local gathering / drinking area for the pigeons.
This hotel is not one I would recommend. Urgent investment is required.
On a positive, it's close to the Taj which was breathtaking.

Clean hotel with a good service. It costs much more than it's worth... They have issue with the safe-box in the room. It does't work properly. I switch it off but could not switch it on... Always need it the assistants from the reception...

We arrived at the Rajmahal hotel after a flight from Varanasi and then a long drive from Delhi.
I was ill this day so when we entered and I saw the large spotlessly clean room and the snow white sheets, I thought I must have died after all and gone to heaven.
A large enough bathroom with good shower recess and plenty of hot water, and vanity with bench space all helped me to enjoy our stay.
There was a fridge, tea/ coffee making facilities and a safe.
Our room had a view of the Taj Mahal in the distance, it was a close drive.
There didn't seem to be anything interesting within walking distance.
( except KFC around the corner if you are desperate. )
The restaurant was excellent and the staff friendly

Its a shame as this could be a nice hotel but as you check in it is evident that the staff have all but given up, beginning with the hotel reception staff who seemed indifferent to our checking in.
Room:- after trying to flush the toilet the flush just fell off wall, the room flooring is so worn it is coming away from the floor. We asked to change rooms which we did,no argument .
Resturant :- the staff are usually standing watching the tv or on their phone and did indeed get my order wrong. I informed them of this but just eat it to get out of there as quickly as possible. The food is poor and we both agreed on this.
Sleep:- if you want a good nights sleep do not stay here as it is opposite a wedding venue and it is like having a private disco in your room. Then the wedding guests come to the hotel to finish the party. Leaving all the doors open so they can shout at each other. We stayed two nights and did not get to sleep until 2am both nights. Not good when you are touring next costs he hotel staff did nothing about this and indeed did stand there laughing with them at one point

Room Tip: Avoid rooms at front of hotel

We stayed in this hotel for one night as part of an organised tour. Its close to the Taj Mahal, which you can see from its roof terrace, so location is handy and the design of the hotel is quite nice. When we were first shown to our room, we noticed a strong smell like something had died in the room. We stayed in the room for an hour in the hope that the smell would go, but it was only getting worse so we asked to be moved. Whilst the staff were not apologetic, they did move us quickly and without a fuss. Our second room was much better, however we could get hardly any TV channels which is an issue when we could only connect to the wifi in the lobby. The main issue with this hotel was the noise. It is situated opposite a venue that is used for weddings, which in India are very noisy affairs! The music and singing were blasting away til gone 4am and were so loud that you could feel the furniture in our room vibrating - there was absolutely no chance of any sleep. I know that the hotel could not help this, however if you do decide to stay in this hotel I would recommend that you ask for a room as near to the back of the hotel as possible, and make sure that there are no events going on across the road!
