nice cozy woooden interiors, comforrtable and spacious rooms with excellent staff.
room service was very good and the food quality overall was good
the only drawback was the breakfast which wasnt upto the mark

We just spent the night; nice rooms, and great shower. Well maintained place.
Dinner was good, and so was the breakfast.
Quiet place, good view, our driver was served dinner and given a blanket too!
No WIFI at all.
Surely a great place to stay if you are looking for quiet stay, we liked it!

Room Tip: Superb restaurant, good for walking .....

Hotel Willow is a nice place to stay. We stayed there two days, booked our rooms over the phone and where not disappointed. They have several types of rooms, so it is good to check a few before you decide. We had the one with private garden. Room was quite spacious and it was a good choice. Staff is nice, but you cannot expect to much.

The Willow Hill hotel is a nice place to stay if you have a car with you, otherwise to far from the town, has nice views over the city. Staff is friendly. Rooms are clean, cosy and spacious especially the ones with a private garden. Hot water was there as well. Restaurant is all right too. Breakfast is included.

top ten reasons not to stay at The Willow Hill
10-generally poor service (least of your worries)
9-guilt you to book cabs with them
8-staff broke into a fist fight in the kitchen and broke a lot of stuff
7-had to pay for our free breakfast because we were vegetarian and sick of bread
6-when they showed us our room they said this is not a good room (thanks?)
5-advertise they take visa, but the machine is always "broken" and forced us to pay cash
4-bathroom had urinal pucks in the sink and shower and smelled like moth balls
3-woke us up early to ask us when we are having breakfast
2-bed had mens chest hair in it!
1-the trekking guide they sent us out with got pissed drunk, lost and wouldn't take us home.

about our trek:
-told we were to be picked up at 10:00am. during breakfast (9:00am) we were told our driver was waiting.
-our guide was pissed off because we were late when we met up with him at 9:45am
-he was pissed off also because we did not bring food or water (the hotel told us it was provided)
-we spent more time sipping chai than trekking (no kidding, we had about 5 while our guide went off to drink)
-we were out for over 10 hours and we were told about 4-5 hours)
-we were pressured into staying in a small village even though we had paid for our room at the willow inn.
-our guide became inappropriate and was calling us beautiful and gawking at us.
-we were scared!

This place has a nice view and the food is not so bad either. My only qualm is that I had just come from the wilderness and my sole desire was to have a hot shower. Despite being assured 3 times that they have hot water 24 hrs per day here not once could I get a hot shower (ooty in janaury is about 1 degrees celcius in the mornings!). I had to threaten to walk out with out paying under force to even get a small amount of compensation for this blatant deception. The management needs to either fix the facilities or forbid the staff from making such flagrant embellishments on the truth. They did however arrange a hiking expedition for me for which I am greatly appreciative.

rooms is OK for the money, good views over Ooty, however waiters requested a tip after paying 10% service charge, they didn't even smile! From the second we booked in they were pushing a book under our face for trecking, we hadn't even got our bags into the room! eventually we chose to go with them as the comments in the book about Rahal were inspiring, om the morning we we told he had a cold and our new guide was an 20 year old student, however hotel sad That he is an experienced guide.
we had to pay for the three of us to get into the jungle as he had no money, he drunk a third of what little water we were carrying and also ate our food. we stopped of at his Hut so he could eat, and had to thumb a lift back! ll in all a pleasant stroll however we were misinformed and paid 400Rs to the hotel and 800 to him.
Willow hill refused us to write comments in the book as he wasn't there normal guide!.
we also booked a taxi with them, we insisted on seeing the car before getting into it and paid 500r deposit. Latter after the trek the same car and driver turned up outside headed of to Mysore, we drove two miles into town and he pulled over and told us to get into another much smaller car a blazing followed after the days events, basilica the driver flagged down a Mysore plate and told him to take us pocketing 500 rs for a two mile journey. i wouldn't of objected if he as honest as the my sore taxi was going there anyhow!, Willow hill are extremeness dishonest, however if all your looking for is a room its OK. be warned.
