Hello Viewers,

After a long search for good food in Ooty i found Pankaj Bhojanalaya to be one of the best hotels in Ooty. There will get variety of Thali's and also quality of food is good.

Need atleast one visit when you are in Ooty.

We found this hotel when we were hunting for good food in ooty and i was happy after eating there. Service is really good and thali was really really good. I want my surrounding to be neat & clean unfortunately i wasn't satisfied with the neatness of the hotel so I gave 3 stars. Apart from this one issue everything was fine.

Pankaj Bhojanalya is a favourite with me and my friends who visit Ooty at least once a month and no visit is complete without one or more meals / breakfast at Pankaj.
You can get a good Rajasthani Thali. There are many thalis listed on it, but everything is just one. So stick to what the hotel offers you- Hot chapatis (phulkas) a couple of dals, some veggies, and if you are lucky, a gulab jamun. And butter milk when available. Curds generally on, but winter can sometimes be a problem in Ooty.
The hotel gives some great parathas- aloo, gobi, methi etc. Ask for it to be with minimal oil. And for breakfast, we all love their Poha also- the portions are large so be careful while ordering.
One thing not to order there is anything south indian. It may be on the menu, but if you want south Indian, go across to Nahar.
The hotel also gives a mean khichdi (rice cooked with lentils) and kadi.
Some of you may find the hygiene below ideal, but it has not bothered us. Eating with your hands and then washing it in the wash basin is par for the course.
And of course, in Ooty, it pays to stick to bottled water.
The prices are on the higher side, but considering the scarcity value of the cuisine in Ooty, justifiable. The ambience is nothing to talk about. It is more like a 'mess' than a restaurant.
But if you looking for non south Indian food, pure vegetarian, you cannot beat this place.
Based on our over six years of regular visits to Ooty, for vegetarians, Pankaj Bhojanalaya is the only option to Nahar. And if you leave these two out, pure vegetarians will find food a problem in Ooty.

There are not enough words to describe how awesome the food is at this simple but in our experience awesome little place. Pure delight, service is A1 all attention on their customers by staff and owners. Very delightful honest people. Veg food like I have never tasted before. We drove to Ooty through various places and tasted enough variety of food but I can honestly say the food here tops it all and more. I could happily do the journey all over again just to eat the freshly cooked amazing home cooked food. I even asked the owner to pls open one in Goa. We are from the UK and have now started living in Goa and wish there was a Pankaj Bhojanalaya close to us. Well done and keep up the good food and service see U soon.

We were dining there a couple of times and everytime it was a poetry of tastes. The food is as spicy as you want it to be, not to oily, plates are as big as they should be and it tastes as heaven. And a cherry on the top - very nice staff :)
