We were a group of 12 people and we had a great time at Marlborough. Their Hospitality was very good and the rates of room was economical. Food was good. The Upstair rooms with wooden floorings was great. Neatly maintained lawn was another attraction. We could take many photos in the garden. Peaceful atmosphere and near to places of attractions at ooty. In short, Fantastic stay at Marlborough House, ooty. Thank you Marlborough for the memories.

we wouldnt say , our experience was bad, but it was not great either.

for breakfaast was said as inclusive, but were charged INR 60 for 3 idlies and tha too small in size and was nit unlimited. with 60 Rs. we could have had stomach full breakfast at any restaurant. Coffe was ok. The rooms with wooden flooring was good but beds made noise.

though there were many empty rooms, our luggage were moved out of our at 12 noon sharp despite we requesting to extend by 3 hrs, felt a money minded host.

rooms were clean, with little change can be made a great experience.

To start with the positive the grounds of the property are beautifully kept with neat lawn and lovely flower beds, it was great for us to have some outdoor space where we were able to play cards, have a drink and breathe in the fresh air. It felt away from main Ooty but in very easy reach of everything we needed. The staff were attentive with most of our requests, however, there is no restaurant and asking for breakfast felt a bit like hard work.
The building hasn't been maintained so well and the rooms are very cold and damp. There is no heating which is ok during the day but at night got very cold. There were thick blankets on the beds which were actually very comfortable and warm. But the bathroom was permanently freezing cold, and damp due to lack of ventilation, I only showered in the middle of the day when I could go straight out and sit in the sun to warm up again. My partners parent's had the same issue with cold bathroom and dampness. I know it is an old property and this kind of repair could be expensive, but even getting a couple of extractor fans and heaters (and maybe dehumidifiers) would make a huge difference. Also, the owner is very paranoid about you leaving boiler and light switches on and charges extra if you want to 'hire' a heater. I would rather pay a little extra for the room and have these things included.

My wife and I were struggling to find a place in Ooty to celebrate our first anniversary and after a long search, we finally booked a stay at Marlborough House. It was probably the best decision!
Firstly, the place itself is so beautiful that you wont feel like strolling outside! The lawns and greeneries around the house is so well maintained and such a depiction of nature's beauty.
Secondly, the room was so very clean and well maintained. Absolutely nothing to complain about. The hospitality of the owners is commendable as they treated us like we were part of the family.
The location of the home stay is also perfect when compared to the distance from all the sight-seeing locations around.
All in all, this was the best place we ever stayed in outside home and was really hard to come back from there! You can take our word for that!! :)

Had stayed at M arlborough house in August this year and left a day early..thanks to the inhospitable attitude of the owner.Due to its 'convinient location'the owner is too lazy to have the food arranged even if u request two days in advance. You can almost notice a frown if u asked for an extra idli. This place is run purely for commercial reasons and do not seek homestay hospitality here.Even tea is not offered here without repeated requests..
Plus it is wooden house so if ur at the ground floor room...theres awful noise from the upper floors when they are occupied..this place is best avoided
