“An anniversary to remember ...”
Reviewed January 14, 2012

Destiny(the Farmstay) was a different experience altogether. A picture postcard in the middle of no where, it's a wonderful place to unwind, soothed by the sound of the rushing, gushing, chortling, bubbling, foaming, swishing, mountain streams, and do what the forests encourages one to do to your heart's content......Absolutely, uninhibitedly, nothing.........
We went for for horse rides, picnics in the green meadows where streams chortle, a barbecue by the lake or a Lazy stroll in the valley the first day, followed by a trek to the Jungles the next day. We spent the cosy evenings in the warmth of the log cabins playing ludo and chess , listening to the pitter-patter of the incessant rainfall. Everywhere we looked the wooded hills rose steep in front of us and above them there is only the sky where a lone eagle circles, circles, circles.....
It definitely was an anniversary to remember and cherish forever ....

Clean unspoilt mountain air that rejuvenates the mind, body and soul coupled with lot of walks , maybe an occasional spotting of wildlife makes this one relaxing trip. A visit to the sorrounding lakes is a must and maybe the staff could pack a hamper of food for day out...

This is one real real beautiful stay which I've enjoyed so far... Enjoyed both peace and adventure at the same location... away from the busy and noisy city life... we spent 2 days completely in this farm and didnt want to check out other attractions in ooty. The adventure starts straight from the parking lot, that is, right from getting into that huge huge vehicle (kind of a military vehicle).... using a ladder... and then its fun ride through those bumpy roads...

Inside the farm, its so clam and peaceful with beautiful scenery all around... the garden, vegetation, dairy farm... so much connected with nature. After the trekking, fishing and other adventure activities... its a real nice feeling to sit in the garden and admire the nature.

Also, the room where we stayed had the full view of the nature around. I guess all the rooms in this farm have the same view... We surely will want to visit this place again.

This was our first visit to Ooty after having spent 7+ years in Bangalore. Getting to Destiny requires detailed directions from the staff. The last couple kilometers to the farmstay has to be done in a big military truck after having parked your own vehicle in a safe parking compound. If you are game for a roller coaster ride, ride the back of the truck rather than sit in the cabin with the driver.

The rooms are comfy with a view to the farm, hills and lake. We stayed on the lower level. They have a number of activities at the farm such as horse riding, fishing, and leisure walks, add to it table tennis and foozeball. For me, I loved the weather, and view was to die for. The food was simply the best and I wouldn't mind coming over again.

In case you are planning to see a bit of Ooty, my advice would be to stay at a hotel in the town closer to the tourist spots, and then go over to Destiny towards the end of your trip.

The moment I got to Destiny Farm stay it reminded me of the picturesque lake district in UK. Destiny Farm stay in built on the slope of a hill top with a view backwaters of Emerald dam which is too good to be real. Every room has pretty much the same view and one can spend the entire day doing nothing but admiring the view. We were put up in the standard room which was quite spacious and comfortable. The standard rooms do have a small living area with comfortable 2 seater sofa overlooking the backwaters and the bills. The food is good and a 2 course meal for a couple costs anywhere between 800 - 1000Rs. There are activities like horse riding , fishing , long trek , rappelling , night trek to keep both the kids and the adults busy. They do not have license to sell liquor so make sure you take your own booze. The service in the restaurant can improve. Having said it all Destiny is an ideal get away for family or a romantic get away.

Room Tip: We were in a Standard room which was pretty good. If you fancy gazing the stars you can even try sle...

An all in ONE adventure for the group of 18, never expected what was hidden in the package. Being in the forest area, there are no roads you know what I'm getting too ...it was dirt roads with a minimum of 2ft deep potholes, and a roller coaster experience. Traveling in the Big wheeled truck and let me tell you they can take those dirt roads and you make to the Resort and its unbelievable that all your experience of the roller coaster ride is forgotten, till you finish your stay and to get back onto this road. Some of us made it on the trekking, fishing, horse riding, valley crossing and the most enjoyable is the scenic beauty of God's creation all around you is breathtaking.

Room Tip: Every room has a good view !!

For some, this might seem a perfect place for a getaway but for anyone young and energetic seeking 'adventure' will be sorely disappointed and left feeling like you've been very mis sold. The 'long walk' advertised as a three hour strenuous trek was a leisurely stroll and wanting to actually do a number of the activities confused the staff and took a long time to arrange (despite their being a so-called timetable).

That said, if you don't come here seeking adventure as we naively did, and you want a peaceful break in beautiful surroundings then it'll be right up your street. It is a lovely setting has friendly staff and the cabins are really comfy and spacious.
