“Very good. But get a guide.”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

Loved the history behind it. Hence, it is very important that you get a guide to see the temple, unless you are just visiting to pay the gods a visit.

Beware of a guide called "Lakshman", was very arrogant and least interested in our visit but only after the money.

“Fulfilling Visit”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

We re visited this temple after 4 years. The sense of greatness was un diminished. We were able to have the Darshan efficiently and were able to pray at all the major and minor deities.

The grandeur of the southern gopuram, the serenity of lotus pond have not diminished in any way.

Inspite of being a sunday, we were able to spend time with out too much of hustle and bustle.

We could also squeeze in a bit of shopping with in the premises.

“Architectural Marvel”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

An amazing temple with marvelous architecture. Well maintained temple. You should enter through all the four gates and to explore the temple a minimum of 4-5 hours is required. A must visit place even if you are an aesthetic.

“The Soul Mover”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

If you wanted to really see this temple completely, ensure that you have at least 4 hours. Ideally go in the morning 8AM. Buy the book about the temple at the entrance. Camera is only allowed up to Garba Graham and you are not allowed to take photographs of Gods inside it. You have to pay for taking photograph. It is worth paying if you are a good photographer. Must read the history of temple if you wanted to really enjoy your visit. Enter the temple through the main gate and step into the area of Potramarai Kulam, you will be amazed at the architecture beauty of this place. There are ten Gopurams, eight mandapas out of which Thousand pillars mandapa with the art gallery is a must see!
Of course it is awe inspiring to see The Lord Shiva and Amman, worth spending five minutes in front of each deity, forget the world and prey. The vibrant place will take your soul to a different level.
