We were more than pleased with this hotel in Maderai. it is in a great location, is comfortable and reasonably priced, and the staff were very good. Our room was excellent, clean and quiet. Breakfast, consisting of local food, was good and came with price of the room.
Like all hotels in India we stayed at, they were open to negotiating price (poor economy, tourism down). There are decent restaurants nearby and walking the area was easy. it is also close to the major temple complex- a 1/2 day must visit.

Room Tip: Be sure to always check rooms before settling in. In this hotel for example the first room we looke...

We had to stay another night in Madurai and this hotel had a room for us late at night. The room was very nice and included an indian breakfast. I thought it was a bit overpriced for Rs1440.

But really good was the staff member who helped us out at night and on the next day with his personal cell phone to inform friends that we couldn't meet them at the right time. He was going the extra mile. Thank you very much for that!

After spending a hour bartering each hotel in the main area (which a lot were already booked), this room seemed the best deal for the price which was 1300 for an A/C room. The room and bathroom were very clean with flat screen television with full cable. I was able to relax after the long train journey and watch several movies. Electricity only went out a few minutes during the day. The location was a 10-15 minute walk to the temple despite rickshaws telling you otherwise. The free breakfast was a Dal with Chipati and chai. The staff tried to be friendly. They have a 24hour policy which unfortunately was not beneficial for my late train departure. They held my backpack, but would not give me a late check out. Laundry service was expensive for India rates, but returned laundry seemed clean.

Situated near to the major sites of Madurai and with clean, comfortable rooms and a decent breakfast. They were kind enough to let us check in early when our bus arrived at about 06:00 on the Saturday (we left the next day) - I'm sure many other places would have charged us for two nights for this!

We stayed here a couple of days to and from Rameshwaram. It was clean, no cockroaches, A/C worked through out. As other mentioned, only 1 window in the room and it was glazed. So there is very little natural light into the room.

Location is within walking distance to the temple, which is one of the major reasons we chose it. Breakfast was India only and pretty good. There are some decent restaurants near by, all Indian as well. If you want western food or even good non-veg, this area of town would not be the place to stay. Hot water was available. Lost power couple of times, but the generators seems to kick in right away (with A/C)

The staff was not all that friendly and parking in the hotel itself seems to be limited. We found parking near by. As mentioned by others, WiFI is available only in the lobby which was a bummer.

Overall, OK place to stay for a day or two if you want quick access to Meenakshi temple. If you are on vacation, there are better places on the outskirts of the city.

Room Tip: Make sure you get A/C room (especially in summer). It does shield from the street noise even though...

Good bed and location. Barhroom is as any bathroom in India. Only Indian breakfast. Wifi only in lobby.
Room had a bit of an ant problem and just a tiny window so it was a bit dark. I would stay again.

The employees were just simply rude, period. We have never experienced such poor service anywhere (and we've traveled a lot). The hotel would be actually quite OK if it weren't for the staff here. The location is okay, the rooms are okay too (pretty clean) but we still had to change hotels after two nights.
