We paid around 1300 INR for a double AC room pretty close to the temple and the railway station. There was an overwhelming mothball smell everywhere in the room, bunch of cockroaches in the bathroom and the whole place including the sheets was quite gross. Bed wasn't comfortable but not horrible but dirty sheets compelled us to use our own bedding. Morning are incredibly noisy, phone started ringing around 5:30am right outside our room and never stopped accompanied by variety of motor and other noises. There's a lot of mosquitoes in the rooms as there's a large, slimy green tank right across the street.
Bunch of shady bell boys work in the hotel. They all knew what room we're in and all would offer beer then charged 180 per bottle and demanded tip. It made us feel very uncomfortable. We were too scared to try their food. We checked out the next morning and moved to Chentoor. They have 24h check out like most other hotels in Maudrai, which is fantastic. The clerk in the lobby was pretty easy going. There was a little TV in the room and I think internet downstairs.
