Rajat,Mughda and Renu became our new family in India. They are warm, funny and helpful. The food is like love and our cottage was in the middle of their tea plantage. There was even enough space to do Yoga every evening. I can only recommand this place and the family. We learnt a lot about India and felt like home.

We felt like home right from the beginning. They are so nice people and we have laughed so much in these three days, it felt so good beeing there. The room with a view: excellent; the food Renu prepared: excellent; the discussions and the informations we got: superbe. We definitely would like to go for another visit one day!

Our 3 night stay at the Aakriti homestay with Rajat,Mughda and Renu was really memorable. Such a lovely welcoming family, their hospitality and warmth is out of this world, We really felt like members of the family. The family are educated, open people who really made us feel extremely welcome. Renus' cooking is absolutely delicious she use all locally-sourced fresh ingredients, she makes her own bread, chutneys, jams, you name it she does it, and it is all incredible. Every day we ate the most amazing food in a lovely family atmosphere. We had good company, lively interesting discussions every evening around the dinner table. This homestay experience really allowed us some insight into everyday life which would normally be very difficult for us to experience. We learned so much about Indian culture, their religion, we tried to get an understanding of their complex spiritual culture, Rajat, Mughda and Renu never tired of answering our endless questions. The homestay is situated in The Nilgiris in Tamil Nadu a beautiful area, the tea plantations are stunning such a relaxing place and we saw a Malabar squirrel. I would highly recommend booking with them, you will not be disappointed. We had an unforgettable holiday.

A wonderful experience! Particularly enjoyed walking through the markets and tea plantations with Rajat. Renu's cooking was delicious and we really enjoyed meal times with the family discussing tea, food and all things India. We learnt more in one day with Rajat and family than we did in 2 weeks with tour guides. Quite expensive, but worth every penny and we wish we could have stayed longer!

This was the first stop on my itinerary and it couldn't have been improved upon for welcoming friendliness and hospitality. Renu's cooking was never to be surpassed on the whole of my trip and I loved the way she explained, with loving care, all the ingredients. She tends the luscious garden too and there are many examples of her art in and around the house. My living quarters, some 100yards away from the house were spacious, comfortable, private and beautiful. Rajat had kindly organised trips to the tea plantation which was fascinating and a trip on the little steam railwayfrom Coonor...a unique experience which I would happily do again. I was very touched when the whole family....Rajat,Rupa and Renu... met me at the other end! In three days I felt I had been made to feel so at home that I definitely intend to return as soon as I can. The hospitality of the whole family is amazing and I enjoyed best of all our endless chats about India.
