“It has been a memorable stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 1, 2013

We stayed at Sunvalley for 2 nights with family. Honestly speaking, we have seldom come across a facility like Sunvalley where everything starting from view, food, service, amenities is simply excellent. Everyone in our group just loved the hotel. The morning breakfast deserves a special mention for the sheer variety and the quality that it offers. The hotel staff has been extremely courteous and were always friendly in their behaviour. And last but not least is the unforgettable view of the tea gardens and the distant Nilgiris from the balcony of the room (first floor). We would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a stay in Coonoor.

Room Tip: It is better to book the rooms on the first floor for better view.

perfect budget stay for families. My family,My Parents&My Sister'sfamily were there for 3 days exactly 1 week back.Based on Trip Advisor,s Reviews we planned our stay there & our decision was a perfect decision.Breakfast was excellent, lunch was good, dining room&kitchen were very hygenic, food was not too spicy(we had veg.food),Staff were very polite and always with a smile and always attentive, rooms were very spacious and clean, bathrooms were very clean and the view of plantations from the balconies were stunning and our kids enjoyed a stroll in those plantations. One minor problem is there is not much space outside either for the childen to play or for the adults to relax after dinner and another minor problem is the last 100 approach roat to the resort but in comparision to the big, indeed very big plus points i mentioned, these were very insignificant. But one glaring dent to the otherwise almost perfect score is the same menu (except for only 1 curry which they changed)of items they provided for lunch and dinner on first day forcing us to sift our dinner on second day to northIndian type. The team management ,i expect will take a note of it because some families like us will like to have both lunch &dinner there itself because of good taste, less spicy food &above all good hygeine:DR SREENIVAS

Room Tip: all rooms were good.

Dear Guest ...
Thanks for your appreciation and time taken to write a feedback about Sunvalley.

We have taken note of Menu and Lunch items on variety everyday......

Frankly speaking this second year season we experienced that most guest would like to have the Lunch and dinner also with us rather than having it outside. We were not really prepared or expecting this. So we have now learned and will try to make necessary changes and will be prepared next time.

Thanks for your positive feedback...

Best Rgds, Dhinesh & Shyma

We only stayed one night, but I wish that we could have stayed longer. Don't be fooled by the rustic roads, the hotel is clean (I stayed in the new building so I think that I was the first person to use my room) and modern. The view simply cannot be beat. Private balconies, comfortable bed, attentive service (even beer was available). I passed a lovely night but wish that we had had the time to stay many more!

Had a great stay for a day at the place. Location and the surrounding is scenic and pleasant with views of Tea Gardens, Hills & Valleys. It was a very refreshing stay. I appreciate the fresh and homely food served there, and the use of in-door badminton court nearby. It was Christmas time and the front was decorated pretty well.

Room Tip: All room seems to have same orientation, and pretty good view of tea gardens from the rear balcony.

 The approach roads was bit disturbing for us but when reached inside within the first few minutes made us realize that this is the perfect place to stay in.

 All rooms and bathrooms are neat and clean.

 Staff is Excellent in every way… you name it and they will get it arranged for you at the time that you want.

 Kudos to Anisha, Sharat, Deepu, Jenny, Michael and cooking & all other staff for the passion that they show in their work (esp. while answering our repeated questions about the sightseeing places)

 Food is awesome and just could not leave anything untasted...

 Best part of Sunvalley is the view of tea plantation from balcony. Probably the view that we get from every room is far better than other viewpoints like lamb’s rock or dolphin’s nose, etc.

 A surprise package by the owner of Sunvalley "Dinesh" who arranged a campfire on Mother’s day - made it look special and was a pleasant thing to do. Appreciate the way he manages his team.

Room Tip: All rooms have good views, but top floor will have better view and ground floor is near to dining ar...

Based on the reviews from Trip advisor.com, we planned to select this place. I must admit that the place was true to its reviews. Thanks to all the previous reviewers and a special thanks to tripadvisor. This is a great place to stay. It's right in middle of the tea estate. As soon as you step out of the room you step into the tea estate. The staff is very helpful. I am amazed at how they have been trained at customer service. It is something five star hotels should learn from them on customer service. They were very polite and ensured that our stay was comfortable. We wanted Jain food and they readily obliged to prepare us. Great food and good service.

Cons -

The location is 20 kms from Ooty, which could be an issue, if you had go back and forth to Ooty. Also the route is bit far from some shops. However, the staff mitigates this. They will get you what ever you want. Also, they arrange a good taxi service.
I found the price to be bit high. May be due to peak season period.
Overall a great place to stay. A home away from home. :)

Room Tip: All rooms are good. Try to get the corner rooms. They ahve a great view.

A wonderful place for a very peaceful vacation. The ever friendly staff ensure that you get royal treatment throughout your stay. We stayed there for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. An extremely comfortable room, a breath taking view from the balcony, sumptuous food that is tailored to personal taste, very courteous and friendly staff to cater to even your smallest needs,... this was definitely a relaxing, rejuvenating vacation. Would definitely recommend Sunvalley to anybody visiting Ooty and Coonoor.
