I think people generally have a more positive experience at Acres Wild than we did but it was nice nonetheless. We arrived amidst a general overhaul of the properties (or, at least, ours) so the cottage wasn't as tidy as it could have been. We also found it hard getting information we needed about how to get from a to b etc because there wasn't anybody about.

That said, Mansoor and his staff were very friendly, the food was lovely and the location is absolutely stunning.

Man, nature, animals.. all live in loving harmony on Acres Wild. And going there for our holiday was the best decision we could have made.
There is a lot to be said for the quaint charm of the cottages and the views from the farm. We enjoyed milking the cows, baking bread, feeding fish, etc.
My dog - a pug - had the time of his life.
But what touched us the most was the hospitality of Mr. Mansoor Khan and his family. They are extraordinary people who in their humble, unassuming manner give a lot to the lives they touch.
So if you want man and nature to touch and nourish your soul, you would surely find a visit to Acres Wild as rewarding as we did.

Room Tip: There are 3 cottages at the farm. If you like a bit of isolation, choose Cheddar. Otherwise pick from the other two. We stayed at Cheddar and loved the view and the experience.

I am so glad that I took the decision to travel to this place after just reading about it in a paper handout. The sole reason to come here was to get my pets (2 dobermans) here for a vacation.
Our cottages (Haloumi) was just at an absolute breathtaking point with the nilgiris in the backdrop. We had bonfires on all the nights followed by BBQ dinner.
Breakfast were fresh, homemade, delicious cheese on the house and filling.
Rooms were spacious, basic and clean.
You have an option to dine in, dine out or cook urselves - we did all 3.
We had total privacy - long walks, trips to the lake, bonfire nites, yoga at sunrise and just bliss!!!!!!!!!
I will definitely keep coming here again and again............

Our family (couple and a young child) had a very pleasant stay in March 2013 at the farm in the Colby cottage. The cottage and the farm were both very quaint offering charming views and an idyllic lifestyle with home cooked food, at least for a few days. The cheesemaking and conversations with the hosts were just the icing on the cake. I would definitely recommend the place to families for a quiet few days away from civilization.

Why do toy trains always remind us of hill stations? The thought trailed across the half-awake mind as the cabbie pulled up at Acres Wild around 10 am. The crisp air filled the lungs as the stomach cried for breakfast. Sliced watermelon, made-to-order eggs, and neatly laid out steaming south Indian options like upma and idli-sambar were targeted immediately. Over forkfuls of food, one waited for the star item. Yes, the cheese made at Acres Wild. And it presently arrived. Accompanied by deep crust toast and mango jam. Topping off the meal with a coffee while stretching out on the easy chair in the billiards room, one figured out that Acres Wild was going to be something like a spa for the sensory organs. Twenty two acres of fresh flowers, misty undulations and soft sunshine.... and the wonderful hospitality of the Khans.... can't wait to go back to Acres Wild again. Soon! (Perhaps this time I'll find the answer to the toy-train question)
