My experience at the Nest was mesmerizing. The distance from the main ooty township was not much. The cottages are well maintained and the facilities are pretty neat and cleat. However, the food could have more variety. Mrs. Chandra was a wonderful host who always greeted us with a smile and never made is feel like a guest. Trust me, you will never regret your stay at the NEST. Cheers!

I traveled to Coonoor December last year with my wife. Our stay at this home-stay has been really memorable. Starting from communication with Mrs. Chandra to cab driver to cook - the entire experience has been really satisfying. Positives - 1. Cleanliness 2. Food (had the best Sambhar here!!) 3. View from rooms 4. The village Bandhumai - you'll fall in love with this quaint little village! 5. Rahlia Dam near to this cottage - a trek you'll really enjoy! 6. Arrangements for tea-coffee at room.. Negatives - Don't really remember as such. Considering the pros, can be ignored as such. Will surely try to go back again, and enjoy the mountains from the windows of NEST! Ohh yes..the cab driver (Mr Chandrasekhar I guess) was extremely poilte, helpful and flexible!

Wanted to go to a place which was away from the noise and pollution of the city. The solution THE NEST, COONOOR. Booked a two rooms @ the nest after reading reviews on various websites. But I was taken aback with thescenic view i got from nest. It was breathtaking. The food cooked by the care taker Mr Ravi was really good as well. Overall an amazing experience. Will like to go back to this place again in the future.

We planned this trip with friends beginning of May.. We wanted to get out of the hustle and bustle of busy Bangalore life and was searching for a right destination where we could hang out with friends quietly. We came across Nest Coonoor, which was slightly away from Ooty.. We have been to Ooty which is so crowded that I dread going there during holidays, its more crowded than Bangalore I must say.. We settled for Coonnor and thought, let’s explore a new place and we did not have any expectations before we reached "The Nest".

The Nest is a cozy and a friendly place to be and the view from our cottage was awesome. Since we booked the whole cottage in the front portion of the property, it had a private porch and a common area where we could sit and chat up.. Since Bangalore weather was soaring, we thought it would be similar weather there, but it was so cold we realized after we reached there. The mist covered mountain view from the cottage was really breathtaking and we din't want to go out.. The rooms were cozy too, but it was cold at nights.

I must mention about the care taker there, Ravi he cooks well and he is quite helpful. The food was homely and nice, but only thing to be aware is that he can cook good South Indian, i would suggest you relish the good South Indian food and not to experiment on North Indian or Chinese food; it goes without saying, “Be a Roman when you are in Rome”..

Again we had a great time and would definitely visit again when we plan a trip to Coonoor..

We friends decided to stay at Coonoor and visit Ooty from there itself, knowing that Ooty remains highly crowded. We read reviews on holidayiq and immediately booked the Nest. We were greeted by very friendly owners, and delicious snacks. The location of the Nest is awesome, in plush green tea gardens on beautiful mountain ranges. The climate was better than expected and very refreshing. At night, the place being far from city life (no distracting sounds or lights) made the bonfire we had an unforgettable experience.
There are enough places to visit around (ask the care taker about these) that are not visited much by tourists and hence remain pollution and commercialization free. The jungles, tea gardens and breathtaking views from adjoining areas are things we will cherish for long.

We liked this place so much that we decided not to visit Ooty at all :P

Overall an excellent experience.
Did I say the charges are very much affordable. :)

Room Tip: Check for hot water ..

We planned this trip in quite a hurry and I lost all the hope when I came to know that my 31st December plans are gonna ruin because all the good hotels I checked in near Ooty and Coonor did not have any room available and the places which were spared were not of our taste. I was so lucky to get a call from Ms Bharucha who gave me the contact number of Ms. Chandra and things turned completely upside down. She was so so so sweet in making sure that not only did we get the lovely room and space we desired but also helped us in getting the best travel to reach there as all the direct bus/train/flights were jam packed by Dec 5 when we decided our travel plan. When we reached the place, the day was bad with an upset weather and rain and so all we could see was fog but when I entered our room, I felt a sense of warmth. It was very clean and very upright with all the amenities we wished for along with a hot tea which we needed badly that time :). When we opened our eyes the next morning, I was stunned to see the beauty around. An amazing view from both our balcony as well as our front door and the cherry on the cake was awsome food by Mr. Ravi, the caretaker. It was a mindblowing stay which made our 31st Dec night one of the most memorable ones and thanks to "The Nest" that we are gonna cherish it always. I would recommend the viewers, please do visit it if you are going to Coonnor. Thank you, Ms. Chandra, once again for all the hospitality.

Room Tip: I guess all rooms are awsome !
