Marudhamalai hill temple is a famous temple and the deity is Lord Murugan. It is sorrounded by a serene atmosphere with hills on the backdrop . Very near about 15km s from Coimbatore city . As it situated upon a hill one has to climb a series of steps to visit the lord .Well maintained ,with a lots of renovating works also shed for devotees on the way to temple .The idol is very beautiful .On its way (steps) one can encounter A Ganesh idol under Panchabrikhya who removes obstacles from the lives of devotees.

The temple is a fine one dedicated to Lord Muruga and there is cave of a devotee saint which is worth visiting. The recent Kumbhabhisheka of the RajaGopuram is the Highlight.

“Our Familys favourite Temple”
Reviewed March 29, 2013

This is a another temple Hindu peoples very much like . God Muruga is a favorite among the Hindu gods . As per history. The god Muruga having 6 houses . This temple is the one of the house among the six houses. lot of siddha's lived in the marudhamalai hill temple one of the sidhar Pappambatti sidhar cave is still in the temple premises. If you are a good walker you can reach the temple by steps may be 800 steps i think maximum of 20 minutes . I have done as a exercise because lot of ayurveda plants spreading full in the hill .The air from the plants good for your health. Buses also operated by the Temple office upto temple. This temple is famous for its golden chariot for Muruga God you can also pull the chariot but you have pre book with temple office The golden chariot will round the temple lot of foreign lived indians, foreigners liked that .The famous festival in the temple is thaipoosam in vaikasi month.(May and June)a 10 day festival . You can see the temple lights before 10 kilo meter in the night time. .The scene was looking good for your eyes. you can see the total Coimbatore area from top of the hill temple. lot of stalls are selling toys, bangles, books, photos. fruit sellers selling the fruits in the way also. The only problem is lot of handicapped peoples sitting in the way to temple and asking money watching those peoples is paining your heart.but If you want the peace full evening this is the best place.
