We stayed for a couple of nights in Valparai, which is about 65kms from Coimbatore. We took a cab from Coimbatore junction and reached Valparai in the afternoon. The place we stayed (waterfall estate) is peaceful and serene, we just loved it. The cook is very good at preparing snacks, veg & non-veg meals. There a no. of places to be seen near by like Sholaiyar Dam, Chinna Kallar Dam, Neerar Dam etc. We enjoyed our visit to the tea estate, where a small but beautiful Murugan Temple is located. My suggestion is stay away from the regular hotels/lodges. Choose one of the estate bungalows. Even if you are spending more, you can enjoy your piece of heaven without disturbance.

Waterfall tea estate, the gem of Valparai, which by itself id a gem of a place simply because the tourists haven't discovered it yet. The guest house belongs to the waterfall tea estates, which belongs to a Sri Lankan company, from what I could gather. They ve their directors bungalow and many other bungalows within their vast, and by vast,I mean, really vast tea estate,of which three ve been kept apart as guest houses and one of them is the valley view where we stayes in,another one is the tennis court and one more, which I can't remember. First thing I noticed was that it was neat and clean. Bathrooms were good, bed rooms neat, and you know they ve changed the sheets and all from just the sight of it. Our bungalow was situated deep into the estate from the front gate and all we could see till the horizon was tea plantations and nothin' else. Lots of place to do some trekkin. We had lots of fun trekkin on our own and gettin lost. If that doesn't appeal to you, there s a guide available. Food at the bungalow was made by the two care keepers, excellent well behaved and hygienic ppl. And was very reasonably charged. 650 non veg and 550 veg for three meals, plus coffee and snacks. And they had plenty of each curry, veg and non veg. There s nothin' much to do at valparai, but a relaxed day or two here is a holiday by itself. Wonderful place!

Went on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday (basically weekdays)..Stayed at Valley View Bungalow. the stay was amazing. The two rooms are equally good. The Food prepared by Mr Rajan Dorai was excellent. Traveled with a one year old. Bit apprehensive in the beginning, but we were every much at home with Mr Rajan's Hospitality. My daughter too enjoyed the stay and the food. During our stay the weather was amazing and the we felt as though we were in some other world. early morning chirping of birds, the calmness and the view all put together was too good.. Would visit again.

Stayed for two nights at the Tennis Court Bungalow, inside Waterfall tea estates, Valparai. This place is around 20 kms from Valparai in the Valparai-Pollachi route. They have three bungalows in total and this was one of them. The bungalow is situated at an amazingly beautiful location. The staff (a caretaker and his assistant) are very friendly and highly helpful. The food they prepared were amazingly good and gave a homely feeling throughout our stay. Though the bungalow was old, it was well maintained and very clean. The toiletries they provided were also very clean and this is highly appreciable! Overall we enjoyed our stay very much. I would strongly recommend this place for anyone who wants to take 2-3 days off from the hectic life and stay at a place with very limited mobile phone coverage.
A tip regarding Valparai: Valparai (and of course this bungalow also!!) is more for people looking for relaxation and not for those seeking sight-seeing holidays!

Room Tip: Tennis court bungalow has two rooms and both are equally good. We were a group of 9 people and 4 of...

Reaching the Valley View bungalow inside the Waterfalls estate is bit confusing however once you reach the bungalow it truley apt for the name. The bungalow is situated exactly mid of tea estate valley which has a very good view. Valparai is primarily a place completely with tea estates and bungalows built for their guest/VIP's/Managers who visit the estate. This estate bungalow is situated well before proper valparai on the 28th hairpin bend.

Waterfalls group has three bungalows for their guests. Valley View [which I stayed], Tennis Court Bungalow and Indraprastha [a bit expensive, however worth the spend]

I stayed in Valley View for two nights and my primary objective of this trip is get away from City life and stay close to nature and also for Photography tour. Valparai is not meant for usual tourist destnation like Ooty or Kodaikanal as there are no places of interest or nothing much to do in terms of activity or sight seeing. There are certain places to visit like Balaji Temple built inside a private tea estate, Nallamudi Poonjolai [view point] and Puthuthotam [a place near the road side where you can spot Loin tail macaque]

The stay was comfortable, relaxed, and rejenuvated. Room was clean, bed quality could be little improved, basic toiletrries provided. This property gives you more privacy , more space to explore yourself around the tea estate and take caution before venture out on your own as there are instances of wild animal encounter. Would suggest to take a estate guide along for a trek etc.Around the property you wont find much in terms of houses or shops. Its just mid of tea plantations. The climate was apt for our stay as it was not too cold or rainy it was just drizzling all day and cloudy.

Food was homely and not that restaurant/start hotel kind of stuff. Mix of north and south indian cusisine. Chef is the care taker of the bungalow as well, so he takes care of everything. Take your own medicinal kit for emergency. Hospital is a couple of KMS away from bungalow.

Overall a satisfied stay and willing to go back. One thing about the food is just dont expect too much like a hotel range. Its a homely stay with nice people around to help you, I would recomend for small family weeknd trip or for couples expecting privacy. I enquired and booked through telephone. Ms. Rasha who manages the booking was helpful and mention your purpose of visit in advance so that they could provide you more info about the place

Other nearby place to vist
Perambikulam Wildlife sanctuary - 70 kms
Athirampally Waterfalls - ~100 kms
Topslip - Aanamalais - 60 kms

Room Tip: There are only two rooms in Valley View Bungalow, eaqually good.

It was indeed a very memorable and very peaceful , calm and enjoyable stay in Waterfall Estate Indraprasta Guest House. Staying in an old british bunglow maintained spotless and neat is a gift. The living room, the verandah and the bedroom are crafted with artistic british architecture. The garden is very colourfull and lovely. The valley view just from the varanda is exciting. The caretakers are the best you may imagine. Recepies prepared by the caretakers are served with courtesy makes you to feel like prince. My wife says that the best sleep in her life were the ones at waterfall estate. The tea grown in waterfall estate is the best. Tea prepared with the waterfall tea is one of the best i have ever had. Coming back to my place madurai i have now getting waterfall tea dust from the management by courier and enjoying the tea everyday with the nostalgic remembrances of our stay
