I went to this hotel for dinner with my family. Reaching the hotel,as usual the parking was full in valayapatti restaurant, They made us park in front of the main hotel and the driver came to us and took the car for valet parking. Just with a piece of card with only the car no was given to us. Having finished the dinner, we informed the security to bring us the car. We heard an unusual acceleration sound when he came inside.

Just driving 20 feet from the hotel the car was not moving. Driving Chevrolet Optra we came to know he has tried to put reverse gear wrongly that it has broke the Gear Lever. When asked this to him he was ready to accept that was not his mistake and hotel will not be responsible for this.

We have to wait for 2 hours in the road just to take the responsibility by them which ended in total vein.

Please guys give your expensive cars to valet parking or you will end up paying from your pocket

Overall: great location, right next to the rail station (though by road it will be arnd 2kms from the main entrance of the station); decent service, cleanliness and amenities for this budget range. Don't expect to pay 2.5-3k and expect a Le Meridien or Taj quality, which are also in town.

Property: we stayed 1 night here with our two kids at this property. Multiple restaurant choices are available; wi-fi is operational though signal strength can vary in the property.

Rooms: we were comfortable in the Deluxe room that we took. We had an extra bed for our elder child. The baths were clean and had hot water. No issues with power because of generators. The beds were reasonably clean and ok.

Food: we had buffet breakfast and dinner in the Fusion restaurant. The food is fresh, tasty and good. However, if you are ordering a la carte, be prepared to wait for long periods. Our son wanted a choco milkshake which took more than 20 mins to arrive! Waiters are reasonably attentive.

Service: ok for this budget range. Our check-in (early - 10am) was smooth, same with checkout, no issues. Didn't try room service though.

Amenities: there are 4 restaurants on the property; we only tried one - Fusion.

Room Tip: Avoid the rooms overlooking the station yard if you are a light sleeper. For us it was a plus (becau...

We stayed as a Group of friends booking 4 rooms. Found hair, semen, blood stains on the sheets. This hotel would have been closed down had it been in Europe.
Food is good. Will never ever stay in this place ever!!!!!!

After a hot and muggy train ride down from Ooty + a 1 hour cab ride from Mettapulayam, it was a relief to arrive at the airconditioned Hotel Rathna Residency. The room was clean, although the shower didn't have hot water when we wanted it (at some point we had hot water, but gone the next morning), and the wifi didn't work in the room. The staff was very fast in helping us when we had problems (e.g. no toilet paper). We had dinner at the restaurant downstairs. Food was good, but overall experience a bit awkward. Waiters would not leave us alone, and were constantly hovering around our table waiting to scoop more food on our plates. Even when we were filling out an evaluation form, at least one waiter was practically looking over our shoulder to see what we filled in. Perhaps this was because it was early, and we were the only guests in the restaurant. Location is excellent when traveling by train. The train station (back entrance) is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. If you're traveling through, and looking for a decent clean place to stay (with two restaurants), then this is a good choice in our opinion.

It is much easy to travel to Coimbatore by train than flight, if you are in any of the South Indian metro. Also there are number of good hotels very near to the station. Hotel Rathna Residency is one such place, with added advantage of location in a very calm place. The hotel in a calm place, as it is on the back side of the main station entrance. The hotel staff are very courteous, the rooms are kept clean and tidy. The hotel rooms covers all the basic requirements for a business traveler. The hotel serves a good south Indian breakfast. The buffet breakfast covers requirement of a continental breakfast also. The spread is good and one could really enjoy a full & satisfactory breakfast. The bar & restaurant are also good for a South Indian food, and the Chettinad food is the specialty of this Hotel. It is the best bet in this city for a days stay. .

After a heated conversation with front desk ppl and manager they acceptd to allot rooms after 1-2 hours as a check out was to be made by two ppl. we went for dinner outside after makin 2500per room advance charges and came back at 10 pm. to our suprise again we were informed tat rooms sold off completely and advance cash was given back. such a heartless money minded ppl, never consider this hotel !
