I stayed at this hotel with 2 friends, the staff were brilliant and couldnt be more helpful.
We stayed in low season and got a great deal and was suprised at how beautiful the rooms were. When u come out of the train ask for Mr. Emtes Kahn and he will take you stright to it. When we checked out Mr rakesh soni (the manager) said we can still go back and shower before we catch the night bus to jodhpur which was also arranged by the hotel.

The hotel is situated in a quiet area but is only 5 minutes walk from the jaagdish temple and resturants and 10 minutes from the city palace museum.

My girl an I arrived in Udaipur on the early morning train from Jaipur. We were greeted at the railway station by Firoz, an informative and friendly guide provided for us through the hotel. When we checked into the room, we were astonished at the ammenities. Our room included a lounge area, large canopied bed and all the ammenities we could ask for. The lower staff speak very little english but are courteous, Rocky G, the manager is so friendly and trust-worthy, I just can't say enough good things about him,

Rocky G made sure that we always had everything that we needed and was a delight to chat with. He will let you come behind the front desk and use his computer or plug in your laptop if you would like to surf the net. On the morning of our check out, he stowed our bags for us as we took a car for the day out to see the famoud Jainist temple some 100 miles away. When we returned after a long day of traveling, he insisted that we take one of his smaller downstairs rooms to freshen up with a shower. . .for FREE. He then took to serving us beer as we chatted and laughed, sharing stories about the good times we'd had.

This is the only hotel I will ever stay at when I travel again to Udaipur! My only warning would be to pass on the restaurant. Sunset from the rooftop is AMAZING! Oh, and the price was spectacular!

The staff is no bothered about the services to its guests
Scheduled food is also served only after a minimum waiting period of 45 minutes
Even in the December winter there was no hot water in the so called geyser taps , even aftr following up for 45 minutes there was no solution
The approach road is too narrow and there is practically no parking space for your vehicle

I was made to feel really welcome. Found the room clean, spacious and well decorated in authentic Indian style. Found the room very comfortable and relaxing with excellent facilities within the room. The hotel offers a prime location and offers roof top dinning facilities however the menu is limited although other restaurants are within local distance. The hotel was relatively quiet therefore offers a good nights sleep.
The manager rakesh soni was very welcoming and extremely helpful I would definitely stay at the hotel again.

The Shree Jagdish hotel is a beautiful heritage building located in the back streets close to the City Palace . The City Palace Complex, Lake Pichola, The Ghats and the Jagdish Temple are all just a few minutes walk.

However, travellers should be aware that this hotel is tucked away in very narrow back streets. It is often difficult for a car to reach the hotel entrance (a wandering cow or a badly parked scooter being sufficient to render the road impassable to cars.) We had to transfer to a tuk tuk with our bags for the last leg of the journey. However, this didn't cost much and the tuk tuk driver gave me change without being asked (something that has never happened to me before in India!)

Our room in the hotel was nicely furnished and decorated and was clean. It was also a little on the small side and was a bit dark due to the fact that the only Window faced internally into the court yard of the building.

The bathroom was clean and functional (once we worked out the hot and cold taps were the wrong way round.)

The hotel has a nice roof terrace for breakfast although due to the lie of the land, the lakes are not visible. Breakfast was buffet style - fairly standard Indian hotel fare.

The staff were very friendly although they seemed somewhat dis-organised at time. We were there for New Year and were told 8pm for the New Year feast, so were a bit disconcerted when we went onto the roof at 8pm to find that we were the only people there. Things didn't really get going for another hour and a half, but the food was excellent once it got going.

I would not recommend anyone to be at Shree Jagadish Mahal hotel.

Goods:
Decent rooms with heritage touch
friendly staff and owner
Close to City Palace

Bad:
Location is most terrible, a big car just can not reach the hotel... You need to always move by a rickshaw.
The staff is overworked and completely unorganized. You do not see any professional approach on handling important comfort related elements. A simple request can take hours.
Breakfast - Too late in starting breakfast. They just do not know how to toast bread. Very little flexibility from fixed menu and you would see unexpected charges at the time of check out.

In summary: If you are from Western world, you are used to certain level of professional service which is absent here. When I am traveling with family, I expect my car to go in front of hotel door, which is not possible here. I would recommend alternates.

It is a terrible hotel.
The owner's only motive is to make money!

Avoid any bookings of this hotel at any cost.

It is dirty , ugly, Located very badly and smells of filth and cow dung.

Very unhygienic.
