We booked too late for a room with a view, but our room was adequate, not the best room in the world, but we were lucky to get it…(Room 106) But the Veg only restaurant on the top floor has the most amazing views over the lake and very comfortable places to lounge and look out from. As with almost all Udaipur hotels, they too have a roof top terrace for the evening and early morning.

The staff at the hotel were wonderful and very helpful and friendly. They arranged airport pick up, train station drop and 5 days of car and driver for further touring about.

The location is great and very convenient.

We highly recommend the Mewar Haveli as a mid-range budget no frills hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view. But if they do not have one, don't worry. You wont be in your room t...

I stay in Mewar Haveli for 2 days and I found the place has been overrated. The location is definitely good, near to tourist market and City Palace. But the service provided by the people is average. They are slow and unfriendly except for the bell boy. There is no hot water in the morning and make us waited for 2 hours before telling us that they are using solar and no hot water in the morning. It was very cold in the morning and I scolded them asking why they need 2 hours to tell my this reason? The room is very small and the added bed is actually morning bed near the window. We reached very early in the morning and was wrongly informed that the bus will reach at 9 am. We were instructed to stay in the restaurant while waiting for room. The restaurant is really cold because of the open window concept. I dun understand why they cant let us sit at the chairs in the Floor 1. At least it is warm. We were freezing in the cold with another couple who also sat overnight train. But I like the food from the restaurant and lake pichola is beautiful at night. The cook is good.

Room Tip: Book early to get a good view. Recommended for 2 persons in a room.

Great experience. Room was clean with a breathtaking view on the lake. Staff was friendly and always ready to help. They can direct you to the right place to buy any item on your list at affordable rates. Avoid the so called 'government shops with fixed prices'. It's pure scam. The same item and quality can be purchased at half-price. Don't miss out the sunset cruise.
Thank you, Kamal and staff for making my stay in Udaipur memorable.

I booked this hotel after a lot of research and was satisfied with my choice. Hotel is just near lake pichola and provides excellent view of it fromn its terrace and restaurant. It is near city palace and bagore ki haveli which made travel quite easier. good and clean rooms. Only problem I faced was the electricity which was goping on and off during noon when it was too hot and rooms were bit small. Otherwise, all well.

Room Tip: Please choose rooms with windows.

We went to Udaipur by car from Ahmedabad. The hotel is located on Lal ghat near the City Palace and the Pichola lake. if u r going through Car , first problem will come is parking .. No parking In this hotel.. so if u r traveling with Lots of lugguage , u hve to think first... The approach to these places is horrible. Narrow congested lanes, choked with vehicles going in all directions. We had a tough time reaching the hotel. We have Booked this hotel for 8 dec to 10 dec , 2 rooms (Deluxe Type) , of which we get one Lake View and One street view. The room was very small. the room and the whole hotel is quite neat and clean. The whole property is nicely decorated with the traditional theme. The walls and the ceilings were nicely painted.

Positive things : hotel is on lal ghat , so lake pichola is behind this hotel and City palace and Jagdish temple is 2min walking distacne from this.. Main positive thing is Location of this hotel.Roof top resturant is very good .. its on positive side..
Negative things : To confirm booking , You have to Pay 1 day advance , and after paying 1 day advance you will get confirmation. we hve paid 1 day advance and Through mail booked for 2 days, but some how , our prgme changed and We hve decided to leave early , but hotel management was very rude and they told us to give 2 days accomodation wheather u stay or not. so compulsory we hve to stay there.. They preferred To give better service to Foreign visitors, not to indians and they mostly depended on that also... In hotel , after paying around 1900 rs , they didnt provide 1 Bisleri bottle in Your room... Pls ignore food of this hotel, coz of service and Taste..u can go for other resturant rather this...

Overall , mixed feelings,,, u can try other hotels also... if ur budget is around 2000 then try once....

We booked the hotel online by calling helpdesk. When we reached it was totally different from what it looks like on their website.
Its like a small guest house, very small rooms, ours was not having windows and their is noise throughout the night.
Only good thing about the Hotel is its Location. Roof top restaurant is gud, but others have better rooftops. And yes economical too.
If u don't find any other choice than go for lake view room only.
