the rooms are basic, but comfortable. no great views from the rooms. the terrace offers lovely views of the lake. the food at the restaurant is avoidable. the staff in nice. they allowed us a early check in and a late check out.

I stayed in room 204, very pretty room with two sit outs. The hotel is located in old city so approach road is very narrow and there is no parking inside. The hotel is walking distance from city palace so one can stroll across conveniently.
The hotel is freshly white washed, rooms are clean, marble flooring, with lovely glass work panels (see photos) and stained glass lamps. Linen is sparkling clean, and even curtains are clean with no tear/stain. Bathroom is clean as well. TV is not LCD, large number of channels with average reception quality. Room has intercom and hot water in bath. Switches need to be checked with staff before using as appliances (laptop etc.) can burn and short circuit.
A lift takes you to roof top restaurant. Food quality is good and reasonably priced. Overall good value except for parking.

Room Tip: Room no. 204 is lovely.

We booked online and stayed 2 nights in a Classic Double room in December '12.

Pros
+ Convenient location a stones throw away from the city palace and the main bazaar.
+ Nice view from the roof top restaurant, where they serve tasty reasonably priced food.
+ The room was decorated in original haveli style with a large table where we ordered room service for dinner. There was a nice medina type seating area with cushions.
+ The room was clean, the bathroom reasonable, and with hot water.
+ Quiet at night

Cons
- Our room did not have windows to the outside, but instead the small windows faced one of the inner courtyards of the hotel. Even though we kept them closed the whole time, it was noisy in our room from the people sitting there talking.
- The bathroom also only had windows to this area. It had a tub, but the shower head did not work well.
- The WiFi was so slow we could hardly use it.
- The laundry service, although returned in 24 hours, was a bit pricey.
- Although the manager / person at the front desk was nice to begin with, and let us save our luggage after checkout since our train was later on in the day, he did not look too happy when we came back to kill a bit of time even though the courtyard where we were sitting was deserted. We felt uncomfortable and headed to the train station very early.

Rooms are good and clean. Service is good. The hotel is located on a narrow street where it is difficult to take a car. No Car parking available. The window just opens to another house hence no outside view.

Very central - is right in the old town; down a little path. nice roof for breakfast/evening drink. I had a good room - large with lots of windows - lake view. I did a lot of relaxing and reading. Had a problem with my shower but they were able to sort it out. The room was cleaned/bed made up daily. good wifi in lobby.

We loved this hotel- it's great value for the money, and has tons of character. The rooms were charming and had great touches like stained class, window alcoves with plush pillows. The beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms were clean and spacious.

The rooftop restaurant is fantastic- not only does it have a great view and good ambience, but the food and service are excellent.

We loved this place, and would highly recommend it as a place for other budget/midrange travelers.

Room Tip: The basic rooms are lovely- we stayed in both a deluxe and basic room, and actually preferred the ba...
