unlike the jain mandirs where you actually get a feel of tranquility combined with aw inspiring architecture & marble stone work this place gives you a feel of total commercial where the more you spend the better the view you get of the deity that too for a minute or so before you get herded out.....

Nathdwara or Srinath ji temple is a very famous religious spot for lord Krishna in North India and many people from Gujarat and Rajasthan visit it. The temple has visiting hours and it is very crowded and on special days the wait times will be long. Although I hate saying this but the most hassle-free and quick way to have a darshan is to keep the guide ( local ) to get the better darshan in a short period. A quick word of advice, do not pay more than 50 Rs per person for the special darshan. I noticed that other reviewers have paid upto 750 Rs for the VIP darshan and it is absolutely ridiculous. We were a group of 5 people and we paid only 200 Rs for darshan as well as the pershad. The temple closes often. Best time is between 11 am to 12.15 pm. If you are staying in Udaipur the best way is to take a cab around 10 am from Udaipur for Nathdwara and Eklingji temple for Rs. 1200 to 1400 (A/C car) and go to Nathdwara first and then on the way see Eklingji and come back by 1 pm.

The temple and its spiritual ambiance was very calm, but it seemed like they treat the devotees like cattle. People were jostling and pushing and the arrangements are such that you might get hurt, if you do not get out soon. I did not believe that people had 'bhakti' in their mind when they entered the temple. One cannot be thinking about god and also about how to push the person in front. Overall a very sad experience.
