We stayed in this hotel 2 nights, and had dinner at the restaurant 3 times. Due to it being off season we were the only guests in the hotel and hence received very good service. The rooms are good but a little bit dated and compared to the more upmarket hotel we had stayed in before we needed to adjust our expectations slightly. The views of the lake are there as promised, except that unfortunately most of the lake has actually dried out so expect to see puddles. The staff are very friendly, we were even invited to have lunch at the manager's house which was an absolute highlight of our trip in India.

Overall the hotel has a very pleasant atmosphere and is beautifully situated on the lake with views of Udaipur. We really enjoyed the food at the restaurant and despite not being able to match the Oberoi it is high quality none the less. Especially at night this place is highly romantic and overall promises a great experience. Definitely recommended.

We spent 3 days here. It was low season so the hotel was quiet and there was some extension work going on but we weren't disturbed at all by noise. The rooms are spacious, clean and cool but we spent little time indoors since the hotel's open air restaurant was too enticing. The restaurant was amazing; the food was great, staff were incredibly friendly, and the view has to be the best in Udaipur - right across the lake (unfortunately currently dry) to the city palace on the bank and the Taj lake palace in the middle. Really good value hotel with a lot of character, definitely recommended

We stayed 2 days and a night at Amet Haveli. The location of the Haveli is good. Right across the lake are nice views of both city palace and lake palace. We were in suite 12 which provided good views of both these palaces, though would have been nicer if windows were bigger. The in-house restaurant Ambrai serves great food, and gives best views of lake and the city palace in Udaipur. Do not forget to explore some not so obvious charms of the haveli, like back court-yard garden adjoining lake with quiet relaxing environment, stair-case in back leading to lake and hanuman ghat, the old style small pool etc.

I stayed at Amet Haveli for one night. My train arrived Udaipur early, so they let me check in around 8:30am. All rooms face the lake and mine had a great view of the city along the lake but did not have a view of the Lake Palace. This was not an issue since the view from their restaurant is amazing!
This is a very safe place for a solo traveler - even a girl.
I ran into a couple of issues during my stay. The hot water was only luke-warm and the air conditioner didn't work when i got my room. These were fixed prompty though, so I'm not going to complain about it. :)
The room was clean and well lit. There were 2 fans in case you don't want to use the air conditioner. The pool right outside my room was not heated, but that's probably a good thing in the summer when it is really hot.
The restaurant has very good food, but I thought it was a bit over priced.
The only thing that I didn't like was that the staff seems a little biased towards non-indian guests. It wasn't too noticeable, but if you're an indian visiting, don't be surprised if you're not treated with the same eagerness as foreigners.

My husband and I stayed here for two weekday night in April. The best thing about this hotel is the location and the view. It is on the east side of the lake so the view looking at city palace is amazing. The best views are from the restaurant Ambrai which has reasonable priced excellent Indian/Chinese food. We ate here for breakfast twice and dinner twice. Try the pancakes for breakfast and the paneer trio for dinner. I dont know where else you could get a better view or more peaceful setting. The grounds of the hotel are also very well kept and have a beautiful look.

Our room also over looked Lake Pichola and we could see City Palace from the room. The view was nice but the windows were so small that the view is really not much considering we could just go outside to the rest for a better view. If you get the suit on the second floor the windows are larger. The room itself was large and the bathroom was also large. It is a Haveli so people need to understand that the style and furniture are old. It has an old school charm to it. At first my husband was not sure if he liked it because of the oldness. We did not have a TV in the room so we asked about one and someone came and brought us one. We always look at the bedding and we saw a spot on the sheets and asked them to change it and someone came right away to change it. The staff is attentative and friendly and really do there best to make you enjoy your stay. The big complaint that I have is the shower. it was always cool for me. I could never get it hot. Perhaps I was not using the hot water tank correctly but I did not enjoy the shower. Though I never did complain about it to them. Luckily it was weather hot when we were there so it was bareable to have a cool shower for a quick rinse.

For a three star hotel in India we got what we expected. I would recommend this place based on location and beautiful outdoor and architecture for a three star hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Do note though the rooms are just okay.

Spent three lovely days after some hard travelling stayig in a suite, staring out at the wonderful view of old men doing yoga on the ghats and the picture perfect havelis and museum opposite. Staff are a bit disorganised and service to the room is slow but this is mitigated by the crusty charm of the place and the very good restaurant on the corner that specially made suji halwa for me. Loved the bathroom too, but when you open the window everyone can see you. Wonderfully charming place

We chose this hotel after a lot of research and we were not disappointed in any manner. It is a lovely, white, elegant, well-
maintained haveli. Our room (118) was very spacious, tasteful and comfortable with a huge, clean bathroom. The large windows provided awesome views of the City Palace. The open-air restaurant Ambrai is a delightful place with unparalled views of the City and Lake Palaces and Jag Mandir. Situated on the western banks of Lake Pichola, it is opposite the old town providing amazing views of the City Palace which the hotels in the otherwise lively and charming old town do not have. The service at the hotel and restaurant was friendly, courteous and efficient. We absolutely loved this place and would recommend it to anyone visiting Udaipur. Location-wise it is the best hotel in Udaipur in its price range.
