The hotel building and our room were of great character. We had a delightful window seat where we could have spent hours watching Udaipur.

The hotel is in an excellent location and is a good option for visiting the city.

The staff were all lovely. Service was not as spot on as at the other hotels we stayed at in India but it was good. If you want a great location in a lovely hotel and are not concerned about frills then this place is perfect.

Good food at the hotel restaurant. Good value too.

I loved this property. The local is great and the terrace for the restaurant is...magical. It's a stunning view and atmosphere. The service is nice and the feel is special to Udaipur. I loved our candlelit dinner and cocktails. We also had to have meeting there in the day and it was lovely. However when we stayed the pool was empty and no internet was working. I had a friend and work companion with me and we shared a double room. it was super small and dark. But I could see there where lovely rooms higher up. But I think the issue was double beds. I think if you are not traveling as a couple make arrangements for a nicer room. Ours was waaaaay too small and dark for two women and travel flus (you feel me here). But I would return here as I felt it was a lovely place with a lot of heart.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a nicer room. If you're traveling w a friend try and find a way to get the bigger ro...

Many thanks for a splendid write -up on worlds most sought after travel -site T.A. We also thank you for very postively liking the food , service at Udaipur's most visted and popular restaurant Ambari. We are extremely sorry to you for the inconvience caused to you during your stay as the pool , net were not working to order . Management is already taking steps in this direction , to improve the facilities provided . The room provided to you was a non lake view ,which has its own shortcomings . We welcome you to book a lake view room in your pleasure revisit next time .
With humble regards and Merry Xmas .

We stayed in room 124, a lovely suite directly on the lake. We were thrilled with this hotel and facilities, the room was quite large and very clean. Everything we could ask for was provided. The hotel restaurant was superb and busy every night. This is where breakfast is served and is one of the most beautiful places I have ever had breakfast. We had a particularly early flight with a 5am pick up, the hotel provided, without being asked, tea & toast delivered to our room just before we left. All of staff were lovely, this was our highlight during our trip to India. I would recommend anyone travelling to India to make sure they stay here at the Amet Haveli and pay extra for room 124 as it is well worth it. We had the best nights sleep of the holiday here.

Room Tip: Choose room 124, large bathroom, window seats overlooking the lake. See attached pics.

Very good hotel. Best view to lake. Breakfast not exciting. But dinner great. Prices and quality are okay.
Good internet. Polite staff. My favorite in Udaipur is this house not sea lake palace.
In Amet Haveli you can feel great....like a Welcome guest.

We stayed in many truly excellent hotels in India, but in a crowded field, I think I would put Amet Haveli as our all time favourite. November in Rajhasthan is a perfect month. The monsoon is over, but the water in the lake is high, so the views from the hotel were breathtaking. Our room was delightful; roomy, breezy and interestingly decorated. The whole hotel was outstanding. The adjacent restaurant served delicious food too. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: We had a lake-facing suite - the lake was literally just below us.

This is spectacularly situated hotel, one of the best viewing points for the lake. We were lucky enough to have a beautiful suite in the oldest part, above the delightful and welcoming owner and his family. This was filled with antiques and a perfect spot from which to watch the light changing. Breakfast was served in their lovely restaurant, Ambrai, with those fabulous views.

Arriving in Udaipur our driver had a challenging time navigating the rather narrow lanes in the mid of rush hour. Especially the last few hundred meters make you wonder where you will end up. But at the end of the narrow lanes, just before the water, you enter the paradise of Amet Haveli. We have stayed in some lovely heritage hotels in India, but this was definitely the best so far. Our room was right above the waterline overlooking lake Pichola, with the Lake Palace Hotel just in front of us and the city palace on the left. It was a breath taking view especially was we arrived just at sunset.

The room was spacious and airy with windows on two sides. Ideal place to take photos of the beautiful buildings on the other shore (and a perfect spot to watch the end of the procession to celebrate the day of Ashura, where the Tazias were submerged in the water of Lake Pichola.). There is a swimming pool (no water when we were there) and space to sit outside in the sun or shade to chill after a days sight-seeing.

Breakfast was outside on the terrace (Ambrai restaurant) under the great tree. It was so blissful, looking over the lake, watching the ongoing of the ghat and enjoying the great fresh juice and pancakes. It was a shame that we missed breakfast on the second day due to an early flight. For dinner Ambrai restaurant is a lovely choice. Sitting on the edge of the lake, with nice atmosphere we spend some lovely hours there.
