In my opinion this a must do when in Udaipur. The cenotaphs are individually stunning but when seen as a whole the effect is quite breathtaking. Although photography is officially banned for a small sum the guards will usually look away.

It is a nice place to take photos where photography is prohibited.
You can just wander around for 10 minutes looking at the royal cenotaphs.

Tip: You can give some money to the gatekeeper and click photos.

These are royal cenotaphs of the Rajas of Mewar region. I had seen this site in some movies & tv shows so wanted to visit it once. There are these beautiful 'chhatris' varying in sizes. Sadly, this place isn't maintained in a way other attractions of Udaipur are. There were a couple of local people sitting beside the gate who looked like care takers. They asked us to remove our shoes if we wanted to climb the stairs of any these cenotaphs. Although photography is prohibited, I could see a couple of people clicking pictures. I must say, this place is a paradise for photographers - especially in the evenings.
