“The first place to visit in Udaipur”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 29, 2012

Visit to this palace gives you an opportunity to enjoy your time both at the palace and the lake. Its a nicely maintained property and gives you lots to see. There are centuries old stone idols, armoury and stuff belonging to kings of Mewar.

One can easily spent few hours roaming around the palace. From the palace one can spend time near the lake which is just next to the palace. Sitting and relaxing there in the evening is really soothing.

“Majestic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 29, 2012

A guide is a must (RS150). Entry fees are steep (Rs100 + 200 for camera). Get lost in history of Mewar and Rana Pratap in main as you get through the bhoolbhulaiyya of the stairs, narrow corridoors, low gates and see the terraces, gardens of the erstwhile palace of the kings of Udaipur.

“Very good”

Lots of things to see and experience. Not very grandiose nor ornamental. But happy to see how its been made commercially viable to suppor such huge property.

“The expanse of luxury”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2012

From one room to the other, you just can't stop admiring the beauty of the city palace. Built in the 16th century, the palace still stands tall and mighty and beckons tourists like never before. Great architecture, history and amenities. The palace also provides audio guidance in case you don't want to spend your time with the local guides who can speak to you in the language of your choice. A great place to spend a complete day.

“A fun visit!”

Loved the palace and the art on the walls. Do take a guide with you - it makes such a big difference to how you experience the palace and you paid only Rs 200!
