We liked this hotel right from the start - a very friendly welcome, delightful room and super rooftop pool and restaurant. Always enjoyed our breakfast: no self service buffet, but all items prepared to order, including lovely creamy porridge! Very memorable dinner in the Gazebo overlooking Lake Pichola with impeccable service and a very drinkable Indian wine!

I chose this hotel on a friend's recommendation and i thank him for his wonderful suggestion. It's a wonderful property with very good facilities. The things I loved about the hotel were:

1. Beautiful ambiance. Very well maintained property.
2. Convenient location
3. Comfortable rooms
4. Fabulous sitting area near the rooftop pool
5. Helpful staff

They stuck to the deal I availed on booking.com and so for me, overall it was a very satisfactory experience.
On the downside, I can say they have a pretty average A la carte menu which can be given a skip.

P.S- However, Please DO NOT forget to have the sumptuous breakfast buffet here. One of the best I have ever had.

Would definitely recommend to all my fellow travelers.

My parents and I stayed at Udai Kothi earlier this month. Overall, the property is stunningly beautiful-- it resembles a white marble palace with inlaid mirrorwork, peaceful gardens, etc. The service left much to be desired, though. We lacked proper air-conditioning throughout our stay, and the front desk staff was rude to my parents when discussing the final bill, etc. It was hard for me to reconcile the promise of relaxation/indulgence with the way they were treated.

On a positive note, we liked the driver provided by the hotel, and appreciated his insights about Udaipur, his native city, as well as the jewelry shop in the hotel, where you can find lovely gifts.

We stayed at several hotels during our trip, and Udai Kothi was the most disappointing by far. I think there is such potential for greatness in this property, but it has yet to be realized.

We chose this hotel based on other Trip Advisor remarks & ratings. We would agree that all the lovely things said about the position and decor of the hotel are absolutely correct.
We booked a 5 night stay, based on a special promotion, lake facing suite for R3000 plus taxes and this is what we expected to pay. On arrival the hotel informed us our room was upgraded for two nights then we would have to move to a different room. They did not tell us that the upgrade would cost R5,337.13 plus taxes per night- a significant difference to the quoted price we had accepted. After two days we packed our bags expecting to move and were told we could keep the room for the rest of our stay.
The suite they gave us was indeed beautiful - however when we book and agree on a price - that is what we expect to pay. We didn't expect or ask for an upgrade - this has come from management.
The unexpected and unnegotiated new amount has strained our budget and has soured our stay at the hotel.

with its traditional architecture and comfy rooms, this hotel offers rich experience in the old city of Udaipur. Roof has a great view and swimming pool to enjoy under traditional indian architecture. wifi seemed not working properly thought, that is properly something they need to invest on.

Extremely beautiful decor ... totally in line with the Rajasthani royalty. Rooms are exquisite with amazing garden views. Food although is a little on the expensive side, but the complimentary breakfast compensates for it. Bang opposite the hotel is a lakeside restaurant which is pretty and has good food with decent rates. Love the fact that the hotel is in one of the narrow lanes which makes the trip to the hotel all the more exciting.

Room Tip: Check out their most expensive room ... has the best views and a personal open air jaccuzi and spa
