The Culture ,colour and Royal legacy of Rajasthan has always been attracted to me. my dream come true to experience the same when I stayed at Hotel Fateh prakash Palace. We have stayed at many hotels over the years, often luxury ones but This was unique experience right from entering the hotel. I felt like a Maharaja.. Its a Royal treat right from the hotel lobby, rooms decor, food, service, musiums, light show swimming pool etc.

We have wonderfull experience which we going to cherish for ever. If you want to feel like a king go and stay at Ftaeh Prakash palace, Udaipur.

The Fateh Prakash is part of the maharana's palace, and is furnished accordingly in very spacious rooms with superb views. Breakfast involved a long but enjoyable walk through the palace grounds. The food is absolutely excellent though not cheap.

Aweful. Aweful. Aweful. I have been to all Taj and Oberoi hotels in major destinations in Rajasthan. And nowhere I had such an experience. HRH has the worst hotel management ever. The reservation staff (Vikram singh) took the name and address and did not take the credit card info despite asked for. Once we reached, found that we did not have reservation! Rooms were available but without views. After enough haggling, they put us up in suite with a view next to a giant conference room where a conference was continuing and it made our stay miserable. We were asked to show an evidence of our stay at the hotel every door we passed through that palace, not allowing our car to reach the palace without repeated calls to reception and yet asking for miserly sums of money for the light and sound show, special charges for room-service despite written no extra service charges in the menu, charges for boat-ride despite the lake picchola is totally controlled by the hotels surrounding it (locals can not approach it), making it even more bitter experience. If you are touting luxury and charging for it, dont make one search for a wallet and a visitor's badge every two minutes.

If you are looking to stay in a historic palace built by the maharajahs, this is the right place to stay. The feeling and treatment is royal in this hotel. The rooms are too spacious and well fitted with the leisure items.
It is just adjacent to Lake Pichhola which gives the great view if you have lake facing room, like me.
Staff was quick, polite and very well trained. The great thing was, they arranged the trip for us to visit the local sightseeing of Udaipur.

One of the best hotels in Udaipur, located in Old City of Udaipur.

We went to Fateh Prakash Palace for a holiday with friends & their children in a package for 3 nights 4 days. I recommend this place for family, friends, business. This place is too beautiful, the rooms are of good size & bathrooms are big & very clean. The food served is very fresh, and the staff is very polite. We loved the swimming pool area, kids had great fun. We had a dinner by the pool side restaurant & the ambiance is too romantic. The location is very nice as it over looks the lake & Taj Lake Palace. We enjoyed the museum in our hotel premises, it maintained very nicely. We used to sit at the hotels open cafe till late night, leaving all the kids in the rooms playing on their own as this place is very safe & secured. The main shopping market is very close by, it takes only ten minute to reach, and transportation is easily & reasonably available from the main gate of the hotel. Over all it is a great place to be :)

We stayed here with our sons, 21 & 19. We stayed in rooms 511 and 512. Unfortunately, there was almost no water in the lake. However, the hotel staff is great and very helpful and attentive. The hotel is a little run down in areas but our room was very nice and spacious. They had free internet which was rare and a good connection. They went out of their way to insure our comfort and could not have tried harder. The rooms are a fantastic value and if there had been water in the lake, we would have loved it. Without water, it looked a little dirty and muddy but the terrace was a great spot to watch the world go by. I thought the food and drink was very overpriced however. I think breakfast for 4 was almost $100 and that is USD which is a fortune in India. But I would stay here again. It is very cool to be in a palace and I think they are working really hard to meet the needs of all travelers. The location is great, too, in terms of access to the local markets and Udaipur in general. The people could not have been nicer.
