My friend was staying at the Oberoi next door - the Trident and Oberoi share the same gates as they are the same owner - so I picked the Trident as it was 40% the price. My room was just as nice as hers, although a lot smaller I had all the same ameneties. The pool was ok. What is lacking is the views, but the Trident has a path to the Oberoi and you can take a golf cart back and forth. A good value.

Very nice hotel, great ambience. we stayed 2 nights there. Food is phenomenal. Location is in the out skirts of the city. The atmosphere is cool and calm, free from the hassels of the city.
We very much enjoyed our stay.

The hotel is on the banks of Lake Pichola. Well landscaped and excellent service at the Aravalli restaurant and in-room dining. The staff and service was exceptional.

Breakfast menu can get monotonous.

The rooms need an upgrade. Boards are peeling off, the WC does not have a jet spray or a shaving mirror like most 5 star properties have these days.

The room is compact and lacks a good deck or sit out to enjoy the finely landscaped garden and the pool of the hotel.

The kids club is wonderful with enough toys and activities to keep a child busy.

The sanctuary with wild boards, spotted deers, peacocks, squirrels make you feel close to nature.

Must do is a boat ride on the lake Pichola by the hotel boat at around 5.30-6.00pm to enjoy the beautifully lit palaces on and across the lake.

Avoid using the hotel travel desk/car since the prices are exhorbitant. A 45 km trip to Nathdwara was charged Rs. 3150 which is almost what I paid for a return airfare from Mumbai to Udaipur.

The driver tends to deviate from where you wish to visit and will take you to shops/places where he gets a commission.

Best place to shop would be at the small shops just outside the City palace.

Really beautiful, well maintained property with excellent service levels.

When we reached there, they took 10mins to give us the room for which they duly informed us and even apologized, given a wedding party was staying there.

Property even has a toy room where you can send your kids to play. Nice pool and lawns.

The only thing which we felt was not up to the mark given the property was a really expanse was the size of the rooms and toilet.
Bath tub had a glass pane which was really irritating and difficult to use and I managed to even hurt myself with it once.

Overall, a good property with good food!

The Trident, Udaipur is a great hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful . Nothing is too much trouble. The grounds are vast ,giving you a quiet oasis as a retreat and places to walk. There are hammocks in the trees and peacocks wandering around! The hotel has some small boats which can be booked for a trip on the lake. Make sure you go late afternnon for the glorious sunset. The pool is lovely, clean and refreshing. We found it a little disconcerting at first that the restaurant looks down on the pool...but after the first swim...who really cares!! We had a driver, recommended by the hotel, to take us sightseeing....so inexpensive and convenient. Udaipur is like a country town so much easier to get around. We did lots of shopping...fabrics, bronze statues, tailoring...pleased with them all!
