This palace is brand new, so if you’re looking for an old havelli, this isn’t the place. But being a new structure has its plusses: rooms are huge, furniture is gorgeous, rooftop and other communal areas are beautiful. We were surprised by how dirty the pool was. We’ve seen this in a few places in India, and we’re not sure if it’s a cultural thing. Indians don’t seem to be a fan of chlorine. I know Westerners overdo it at points, but a pool needs to be cleaned everyday, bottomline. We informed the management that the pool is super unfriendly for Westerners, so hopefully they’ve fixed that problem. Overall the value is great – if you’re looking for the feel of a fancy Taj or Oberoi hotel, but at decent prices, this is definitely the place.

What an incredible hotel! The whole hotel is beautifully, intricately decorated and isitself a work of art. There is a rooftop terrace with views across the lake. There is also a beautiful infinity swimming pool on the roof, as well as a fantastic restaurant with some of the best food we ate. When we arrived back late at night we jumped straight in to the indoor swimming pool which is itself a beauty. The room we stayed in featured a four poster bed, and the ceiling and walls were hand painted. An incredible hotel, extremely special. Like a palace.

Room Tip: Unique, wonderful hotel.

chunda palace is a family owned hotel. it was originally a family residence and then got converted into the hotel. the entire hotel is very intricately painted and designed in rajasthani traditional artwork, carvings, glasswork. it took 16 years just to make this.

the rooms are very beautiful, the walls and ceilings are very beautifully painted. all rooms have a jacuzzi bathtub with an excellent rainshower, and the quilts on the bed are so soft, it feels like you are sleeping in a cream puff.

the staff is very hospitable and courteous, they take a long time to prepare food in the restaurant though. the rooftop terrace has a restaurant, bar and swimming pool, and a fabulous 360 degree view of the lake pichola, hill ranges and udaipur.

they also do destination weddings. it would be a great place to get married, very romantic setting. definitely had a great stay here.

we spent 1 night only on the way to Kumbalgarh Fort and we had the most romantic evening and dinner at this royal retreat whose rooftop terrace overlooks the spectacular Lake Pichola and the main monuments of Udaipur ,,We were given a fully frescoed huge room - 90 sqmts - with a great marble bathroom . We had excellent food served on the /errace. al fresco with a great old style heating system - In Feb is pretty cool at night - made of a big brass pot fully covered with burning charcoals spreading warm all over ! The hotel owners- of a royal dinasty - live the 3rd flood of the hotel and its easy and pretty much pleasant to meet them and have a vibrant and nice conversation on their history and their culture ,, We ll be back for sure ,and hopefully for a longer period ,
