“Lovely and peaceful hotel at Pichola Lake”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 16, 2012

Me and my friend stayed at Nayee Haveli for 3 days and 2 nights, and we enjoyed it A LOT !
The Hotel manager Rahil and his cousin Arif gave us the best vacation we could possibly have. They are kindhearted and very helpful, they helped us with the tour around Udaipur, took us for local dinner, enjoyed a night out in Udaipur, etc ... You can ask them anything, they will provide the suitable solution for it.

The rooms are neat and clean and suitable for friends traveling in a budget way, but also for honeymooners/couples (there is a very nice couples room with view on the Pichola lake) and so on.

The food on the roof top restaurant was also very nice.

The hotel is built at the side of the Pichola lake, which makes it a wonderful located hotel. The main attractions, the City Palace and Jagdish Temple, are at close walking distance of this hotel.

I recommend this hotel to everyone, but be sure to make a reservation!

There are not much places in Udaipur under 1000INR. Nayee Haveli is the rare choice. Ask room #3 with Lake view. The room is very small and cute. We must ask for bed sheets and Towels. It can be provided only if we asked for.

Room Tip: room #3 with Lake view

We arrived in udaipur and met Rahil who looked after us well. We were fortunate to have booked the lake view rooms they were very well done. I spoke to another guest who was shocked at how bad the other rooms where. The view from the roof is good but slightly impeded. The real negative was the restaurant what a rude and disrespectful guy who runs this I would avoid eating here there are some fantastic places close including millets of me war and pushkars cafe. Another thing that was a little dodgy was that we had organised a car and driver to take us to jodhpur. When we got in it was dirty and no air con as the driver said it was broken and Rahil would not fix it as it was his car. The driver was slimy so don't book thru Rahil as u will be disappointed. Udaipur is a lovely city to enjoy.

Room Tip: Only stay in the lake view room

We spent three nights here in August 2012. I had read reviews and certainly lived up to them!

We had a 1200 rps room, it was really nice, spacious, large comfy bed, very nicely decorated, good bathroom, window seat with views over the lake and fairy lights in the ceiling.

The rooftop restaurant was very nice. Very reasonable price and the best food we ate in udaipur and amazing views. It had WiFi although wasn't working when we were there apparently down to cables being disrupted in town.

My biggest praise of this hotel is for Rahil (the owner). He was incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming. He welcomed us with pakoras, told us all about the local festivals and attractions with very refreshing honesty. He would dissuade us from using the facilities such as laundry as it was cheaper next door and recommended nice restaurants over his own even though we found his nicer!! He even took us to a authentic Rajasthan restaurant quite a distance away in his car,had a lovely meal with good company and even picked up the whole bill!
He treats his guests like family and was an amazing experience being there.

Highly recommended and will definitely return

Owner Rahil is a gentleman, picking us up from the bus station at 5am in his own car, taking us out for a local thali and giving us a discount on the agreed price of the lake view room from 1800 to 1300 a night. Restaurant service was variable, on the whole good, but a lot of choice within 5 min walk. Decent taylor 5 min walk owned by guest house owner, Sandouk, ordered taylor made merino wool British cut suit for ~£150, a bargain if you know about suits.

I can't describe how I enjoy so much this hotel. I totally recommand anybody to stay there. I travelled 2 weeks in the North of India and this hotel was easily the best I got. It's super cheap, they are super nice and the rooftoop is amazing ! The boss woke up at 5 to come to open us the door when we arrived (he doesn't leave at the hotel) and he helped us to book a cab to go to the airport when we left. If I come back in Udaipur in the future, I will return there for sure.
Sylvain (a French guy who stayed 2 nights there and enjoyed it a lot)

What a place to unwind as the sun sets over the city of lakes!!! Very friendly staff/owner Rahil, rooms were top class and the restaurant roof terrace has the most amazing views. Located right in the heart of town too highly recommend this place to anyone in Udaipur!!

Nayhee Haveli is an authentic Haveli in Old Udaipur, with original parts that are 100 years old. It is located on a typical Ghat on a narrow winding street, beside the lake. Experience local life from hearing the ringing of temple bells to the mezzuin calling from the mosque, watch in amazement as cows meander amidst the rickshaws and colorful sari-clad ladies wash clothes at the edge of the lake. The rooftop terrace has spectacular views over Lake Pichola, breathtakingly beautiful in the morning and at sunset. You can relax with a Masala tea, have a tasty traditional meal or just chill out and enjoy the view. This small friendly hotel has an authentic atmosphere from the narrow staircases to the shabby chic rooms which are clean and comfortable, and is a real home from home. ... more   less
