“Authentic Rajasthani Thali”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 7, 2012

I must admit, the quality of food has improved from the last time i had visited the place. Food now has very authentic taste and quality is well maintained. One can also look at the vintage cars collection in the same campus.

Its a very nice and calm place. Location is excellent. 2 mins drive to lake pichola. And City Palace is also 2mins drive. Neat and tidy place. Some rooms are small in size but over all it's a value for money place. We got a decent good size room and the rates are not high. Staff are very courteous. Vintage car collection is amazing. Negative is that there is no swimming pool.

Thank you mates at Tripadvisor.com, you guys have really helped me in finding correct hotel for me. This hotel though located at little outskirts of city, however the best part is the ambiance of the hotel which is truly royal. my room through standard was sufficient for a family, breakfast and dinner its absolutely your choice, however i preferred hotel to serve it for me, which was little expensive, but was okay.
Staff was brilliant, supportive and educated.

team;- ill come to you guys again.. Inshallah

Room Tip: book in advance and make a confirmation call to them, their check in & check out time is 12:00 P...

We stayed at the Garden hotel from Aug 16th to 18th and had booked two rooms. We got rooms at the upper level #206 & 208. The check in was quick. We ate Rajasthani thali at the Garden restaurant for dinner on Aug 16th. The thail is priced at reasonable Rs 150. Yum.. the food was delicious, hot and service was pleasant and fast. Avoid the other restaurant, it is very pricey. The roooms were very clean and well maintained although there is room for updates. They do turn off the hot water at night but they will start the boiler at your request. Otherwise hot water comes at 5 am. House keeping was good. Don't miss on the antique cars museum. You can get a combo pass for the thali and the musuem for $250.00. The hotel management also gives you passes for entrance fee to the City Palace & Crystal musuems, light and sound show which is very helpful. There are many places to eat around this hotel like Coffee Day, US Pizza, places to shop like Shilpgram. The area around is clean, well lighted. We did not hear too much traffic on the road at night and slept well.

Room Tip: No elevator for this hotel, but if you willing to climb 2 short flights request rooms facing the res...

Staying in this historical building along with the Vintage Car Museum makes it fun. The size of the room was decent; the bathroom was a bit outdated but worked fine. The inner courtyard was very quiet (even on Diwali's night); however the street side windows brought a bit more noise, so make sure you close your bathroom windows and door. Service was pleasant and courteous, and room was clean. Only a few minutes away by rickshaw from the City Palace, so even though it is not right in the middle of the old city, it is very near. This hotel being part of the HRH, you receive a pass which allows you to enter for free within the gated premises of the City Palace. Overall, pleasant stay even though a bit pricey given the outdated bathroom.

I was in Garden hotel with my parents on the weekend of my birthday and it was a deligthfully pleasant stay. The room was huge and the bedding was so comfortable. The bathroom was probably one of the most spacious ones I've ever seen with a good selection of toiletries. The staff was extremely polite and service was quick. The staff also helped us plan our itinerary and recommended popular spots. There was also complimentary wifi service.
Since it is part of the HRH group of hotels, we even received a complimentary pass to access the city palace area for the duration of our stay. There was a nice little booklet in the room describing the royal family. Moreover, they even have a nice vintage car display within the hotel with enthusiastic guides who amaze you with vintage car trivia. Food was a little pricey, but was simply yummy! The lunch thali is certainly worth trying. For the price that you pay, it is definitely value for money. I will certainly recommend it to anyone visiting Udaipur for a luxurious stay.

This hotel is located right in the centre of the city ,hence very good to choose when you want to see around the city . Would not really need to take a Taxi if you stay here , you can take a Auto and just keeping going from one location to the next as taxi would be a over kill due to its location

The Hotel is kind of old , but was clean and would recommend that you pick the basic double rooms with A/c as I did not find anything superior about the superior rooms. The Wifi was Ok ,Ok . If Breakfast was part of the tariff , it would have been a huge Plus , unfortunately it is not .

When in Udaipur do make it a point to have food at "Nataraj Dining Hall" for good Rajastani food and good food in general
