“An oasis of calm”

My family and I sayed here for two nights and we were all delighted with everything. There were three generations of us from my 85 year old mother to our youngest 11 year old daughter and all of us were very well taken care of. We stayed in the cottages which had air con and were very comfortable with pretty views. The service was warm and attentive. We were very fortunate to have amazing tiger sightings on each of our three safari drives. On our departure from the hotel one of the staff chased after our mini bus on a moped with a piece of laundry we had left in the room! !

Everything ticked about Khem Villas and we were very happy to stay three days - that is what it deserves! The owners were charming and attentive and we talked a lot about the history and the charitable work which revolves around Khem. Excellent food: unobtrusive but good service all round: a pretty place with much to recommend it for downtime. The wildlife trips are a bonus, although quite challenging with early morning starts.

Room Tip: They are all good.

We stayed here for 2 nights while heading out on safari in the nearby national park. The cottage we were staying in was beautifully secluded. It was very clean and stylish. The staff were extremely helpful and greeted us with hot towels on return from each safari. The food was freshly cooked and local. Each morning at the crack of dawn before each safari we were woken up with tea and biscuits. Much needed. The crocodile in the pond was an added bonus. We can highly recommend this hotel

Stayed at a Khem Villas cottage for two nights in January of 2013. Much of what I would state about the place has already been mentioned by other reviewers so I will attempt only to underscore what I feel are the significant items: Great location for safari into the tiger park, the property was comfortable and well groomed, the staff is quite curteous and not the least bit intrusive. The manager, though somewhat "stiff" as described by another reviewer, was responsive to any request we made. Though I am not by any means a vegetarian, the food exceeded my expectations. As noted by other reviewers, there were timing conflicts to some extent with meal time, hot water availability and the morning safari schedule. While I can iunderstand why this would be an annoyance for some, I assumed that was the price to pay for staying at a "camp" that promotes itself as eco friendly with fresh vegetarian cuisine. Bottom line: I would stay there again.

Room Tip: Based on other reviewers stated concerns, ask about AC in your accommodation if traveling during war...

We stayed 2 nights in a luxury villa. The set up is a prefect mix of Eco and luxury. The owners are lovely - so keen to make your stay special in a very understated way. The villas have amazing outdoor baths and showers (as well as the indoor ones). The food is simple but very good. An active discouragement of tips also makes everything feel genuine! Free wiFi in the main building vey welcome!

This is a stunning place to stay - I wish we had stayed longer to enjoy all this hotel has to offer. The vegetarian food is exceptional, the outside fireside bar is a great place to meet other travellers and share safari stories. The cottages are well appointed, lovely touches like a hot water bottle in the bed and one to take out on the early morning safari along with the thick woollen blanket to keep out the morning cold. our room had an outside bath and resting seats outside.

We stayed in a tent which was too hot to be in during the day, not really a problem as there were plenty of other cool and comfortable sites around the hotel grounds to pass away the heat of the day whilst waiting for the evening safari. The hotel also offers various other opportunities and excursions including camel rides and a jeep trip to the fort.

The landscaping of the hotel and grounds is beautiful and the accommodation is excellent; but we found the service, which is technically excellent, too formal for our taste (except for the lady who runs the spa, who is just lovely) and the food was a big disappointment. We ate much better almost everywhere else, vegetarian or not.

Room Tip: Tents do not have AC so may well be too hot to be in during the day if you're going during or at...
