We went there for 1 day in December 2012 and saw no tigers at all, even though we took the most commonly seen tiger route (route 9), but still saw no tigers. We did see spotted deer, and lovely birds though. The nature is breathtaking and if you go to the top of the peak, the view is absolutely wonderful. Its a wonderful experiecne in all, if you dont mind not seeing tigers in the end.

We went out on two safari trips into Ranthambore, one in the afternoon and one in the early morning. Sadly no sightings of tigers but we did see a leopard which is apparently even rarer! Worth it for the scenery alone and the fun of bumping along in an open top jeep.
Only a few vehicles are allowed in any given part of the park at any given time so you are not falling over other tourists, until a "sighting" is made, then everyone rushes to the same spot . .

Tiger sightings are a matter of chance but this reserve is abundant in wildlife. Plenty of deer, sambar, crocodiles, peacocks etc.
We were fortunate to spot a tiger at very close range and a bear and leopard.

Book Gypsy well in advance otherwise you will have to take the canter, here again we could not spot the tiger, zone 3 is the best do not miss it while can easily avoid zone 5,
