This hotel is class - from start to finish! The place itself is fascinating. The parts of the fort converted into the hotel are done just beautifully - while retaining the old flavor of the place. The service is impeccable and the food is simply delicious. Breakfast is served looking over the lake and provides a peaceful and beautiful setting. Dinner is served on a rooftop with quiet music provided in the background.

We also treated ourselves to a cooking demonstration, which was great fun!

We very highly recommend this hotel experience! Give yourself at least a couple of days there, and make sure to spend time talking with the lovely and wonderful owners.

The heritage resort of Sardargarh was our abode during our recent trip to Rajsamand. We had booked a 10 day Rajasthan Tour from Antilog Vacations – which are no. 1 for Rajsthan Tours & needless to say the trip was wonderfully executed.

The small town had acted as our favourite spot from Chittorgarh for the past couple of months but we hadn’t checked out the Sardargarh Heritage Hotel till now.. At a distance of around 120 odd kms from Chittorgarh it provides a tempting second option from the hackneyed forts and tower palaces of Chittorgarh and Udaipur.

The hotel bore a heritage look and feel and had an elaborate welcoming procedure. We were welcomed with flowers, music and welcome drinks. The reception area had the image of a haveli being converted to a boutique folk resort.
We were later told that the owners were offspring of the original family who lived in the haveli centuries ago. Because of their family linkage and property, the managers and the crew took personalized care of the resort and were thoroughly versed in the day to day operations of the hotel and hence it was ultimately the guests who received the best of attentions.

Rajsamand on its own might appear a touch bland to some as it did not have the quintessential sightseeing spots usually associated with big places like Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur etc. But our excursion to the local village, the adjoining hillocks and the temple was a nice way to unwind and mix with the daily life of the local people.

Then we had a grand time at the fair which was on highlighting the local theme of the district. Thus the Sardargarh Heritage Hotel provided an excellent stay in Rajsamand and is highly recommended based on our experience.

My daughter and I spent 2 days and 2 nights at Sardargarh Heritage Hotel. We were welcomed as though we were royalty, complete with music and flowers. The hotel has been lovingly restored to a beautiful heritage hotel by the owners, and direct descendants of the original family.
They are intimately involved in the day to day operations of the hotel and the tours. I was lucky enough to be accompanied by the owners on two different excursions into the local village. It was an amazing opportunity to see how the local people lived and worked. The service at the hotel was simply 5 star. The food was excellent, and we had a dinner there that was our favorite during our 2 week tour of India. The location is somewhat out of the way, being about a 2 hour drive from Udaipur, but totally worth it. This would be a perfect romantic get away, or an ideal setting for a destination wedding.

We were thankful that our tour company Trinetra Tours scheduled us for two days in this carefully restored fort.
The decendents of the original family are running the hotel and do a superb job of making guests fell welcome and comfortable.
A great experience.

Room Tip: the rooms overlooking the river are charming

What surprisingly wonderful hotel complex this was high up in a heritage fort. The hotel is stunning with its beautiful heritage restoration and the gardens. There is even a pretty pool which is a surprise when you encounter it. Views down over the village and rural areas or across to the hills are amazing - great stars at night. Our room was 3 parts - a large sitting area with a big bay window in a turret overlooking a monsoon lake - the window bench was big enough for two to lie on to gaze out at lake activity and birds; a good sized bedroom with a comfy mattress; and a large full bath at the other end of the sitting room. The service was just excellent - local village staff being trained to take part in all aspects of the hotel business. The owner and family were hands on. Food and evening entertainment were fine indeed. Maybe our best memories were from here - ask the hotel to have a local person walk with you through the village late in the afternoon - magic!
