“Excellent local food, casual atmosphere”
Reviewed October 12, 2012 via mobile

A friend recommended Hatcha's, so we decided to give it a try. It's toward the edge of town. You order at a counter, then seat yourself. The restaurant was full of folks having a rollicking good time over their meals. While they do have American food and burgers, we both ordered New Mexico specialties. I had chile rellenos with red chile sauce, my husband had blue corn beef enchiladas with green sauce, and both were very good. The red sauce is very mild, and the rellenos were crunchy and wonderful. Would recommend ordering the "chip bar," which is a bottomless basket of chips with delicious salsa. The meals come with fresh sopaipillas. Would definitely come back!

“Tasty food, reasonably priced”
Reviewed September 28, 2012

On a fall visit to Eagle Nest and Angel Fire, Hatcha's was uncrowded at lunch time. The restaurant was clean and pleasant. The menu is posted above the ordering station at the front counter. We found the food to be reasonably priced with a good variety of choices. As noted in other reviews, orders are placed at the counter. Our food was brought to our table promptly, and the server came back to check on us a couple of times. One of our party had chicken enchiladas with green sauce, one had pork with red, and I chose pork blue corn enchiladas with red & green. The blue corn enchiladas are served with generous dollops of sour cream and guacamole, and they were very good. I was pleased to see several choices of side dishes in addition to the standard beans and/or rice, and was very happy with my calabacitas. A sopaipilla was also included, and was appropriately hot, light and puffed, rather than heavy and doughy.

“Great Mexican Food - I keep going back!”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

Hatcha's is a family owned Mexican restaurant that opened in Angel Fire in 2010. The staff is very friendly, and efficient, though the wait at the ordering station can take a while at lunch time and 6:00 pm. The prices are very good and service is good. I really like the Fajita Wraps - Chicken is the best. The side dish of Grilled Spinach is wonderful, though it can be a little spicy.
One down-side, is that they close at about 7:30 pm most days.
I keep going back to Hatcha's each time I visit Angel Fire.

“Left Hungry”
Reviewed September 19, 2012

Went in to get food just before seven. The credit card machine wasn't working. Spoke to the lady working the counter and let her know that we would get cash and be right back. We came back fifteen minutes and it was after seven, the same lady was at the counter and told us they were closed. We didn't get to eat. The food looks good, it would have been nice if we had the opportunity to get some food. Looks like the place closes at seven every day.

“Nothing special...”
Reviewed September 16, 2012

We are always on the lookout for good New Mexican food. This was the usual fare...the green chile burger was pretty pedestrian, and the grilled shrimp salad was cafeteria-quality (they are, after all, called shrimp because they're small!).
