“Beautiful setting off the beaten track”
Reviewed December 26, 2012

If you fancy getting away from the main tourist areas, go to Kumbhalgarh and to Aodhi. As soon as you venture off the beaten track, you will discover some more authentic scenes of Indian and Rajasthani life. So don't make the mistake and expect the same level of comfort in these areas. (HOT) Water is scarce and difficult to master, monkeys and other animals or insects are a constant nuisance and the finishing of the bathrooms are not immaculate as in 5* hotels in Jaipur.
Having put these things in context, I find the Aodi simply magnificent for its setting, for the architecture of the property and the awesome pool area in the center.
The staff went out of their way to accomodate our excentric bedding wishes (2 friends and a child) and served us breakfast beside the pool, even though it was not catered for it properly speaking. We had dinner at Aodhi's as well, but I was not felling well (not due to the hotels fault) and I honestly cannot comment on the quality of the food.
The rooms are not the biggest and since they're built into the rock, they're fairly dark, but again, that's part of the feature.

Aodhi is a nice weekend destination. Though it is a bit over-priced but a good place to stay for 1N or 2Ns. I booked in advance when i reached I didn't like the room they allotted to me but on request they changed the room without any hesitation.

Service is very good, staff is very good.

Room Tip: Dont chose the room which is near the entrance.

Hidden by trees, besides the hills crowned by the ruggedly majestic Kumbhalgarh Fort, nestles The Aodhi, a sanctuary-resort.
This hotel provided a beautiful retreat for our outbound wokshop. The atmosphere was relaxing and aesthetically pleasing. The grounds are beautiful. We got ample time to enjoy the place during & after workshop. The service was good and the food tasty. The pool was great & although we used to chill out. I stayed in he room no 1 & room was done beautifully.

THE MOBILE PHONES DON't WORK IN THE AREA & IS THE BEST PART OF IT. The fort is close by & one can just walk across.

Indeed, the place is beautiful. Our room was very nice. Still, it felt wrong - like a money-making machine for HRH hotels. This was the only hotel restaurant experience where we were not able to order a la carte, and the buffet dinner was the single most expensive meal we had in India (1100 rupees per person). We were not terribly hungry because we had a late lunch, and ended up eating very little - not only because we did not want the food, but also because the food was too spicy for our taste. Had we thought about it, it would have been far better to order room service!

Also, we were rushed out of dinner to hear the musicians performing around the pool. And, while they were good, it was also a place where the musicians encouraged tips. At the Manwar Camp Resort, where the performers were better and the show more elaborate, no tips were requested.

If you go there, make sure not to have a room situated above the staff lounge. The TV in the lounge was on very loudly till late at night, and woke me early in the morning (6:15 a.m.).

Finally, though a small thing - this was the only hotel that did not provide complimentary bottled water.

kumbalgarh is a beautiful place with a majestic not to be missed fort..
and to help you have a good time...Aodhi is certainly a good option to stay..
the main attractions at kumbalgarh are the fort the light and sound show and the jungle safari..
it is advisable to check in by noon take some rest see the fort (entry closes by 5pm)..and then the light and sound show...the jungle safari can be done early next morning...and the best part is that there is no mobile connectivity...aodhi has excellent rooms..great ambience...nice food...(options in breakfast are limited!!)..a .professional courteous staff...they also have arrangements for rajasthani folk dance...overall a great choice to stay..some more properties are fast coming up...

Room Tip: choose a sunny room if travelling between oct and march..which is the best time

i stayed there for 2 nights, we reached at the hotel in the afternoon as i we started from ahmedabad at 7 am. road to kumbhalgarh is bit bumpy and curvy but when i reached at hotel it was serene experience. evening was very cozy and morning was quite shiny. hotel is well maintained and services were also good. having food at rooftop restaurant was very amazing experience.

Room Tip: go for room no. 21 and 22 as they are located at height gives complete view of property.
