This hotel provided a beautiful retreat. The atmosphere is relaxing and aesthetically pleasing. The grounds are beautiful. The service was good and the food tasty. The best nights' sleep I had in India.
It is very close to the fort so it is easy to get back and forth.

Indeed, the place is beautiful. Our room was very nice. Still, it felt wrong - like a money-making machine for HRH hotels. This was the only hotel restaurant experience where we were not able to order a la carte, and the buffet dinner was the single most expensive meal we had in India (1100 rupees per person). We were not terribly hungry because we had a late lunch, and ended up eating very little - not only because we did not want the food, but also because the food was too spicy for our taste. Had we thought about it, it would have been far better to order room service!

Also, we were rushed out of dinner to hear the musicians performing around the pool. And, while they were good, it was also a place where the musicians encouraged tips. At the Manwar Camp Resort, where the performers were better and the show more elaborate, no tips were requested.

If you go there, make sure not to have a room situated above the staff lounge. The TV in the lounge was on very loudly till late at night, and woke me early in the morning (6:15 a.m.).

Finally, though a small thing - this was the only hotel that did not provide complimentary bottled water.

kumbalgarh is a beautiful place with a majestic not to be missed fort..
and to help you have a good time...Aodhi is certainly a good option to stay..
the main attractions at kumbalgarh are the fort the light and sound show and the jungle safari..
it is advisable to check in by noon take some rest see the fort (entry closes by 5pm)..and then the light and sound show...the jungle safari can be done early next morning...and the best part is that there is no mobile connectivity...aodhi has excellent rooms..great ambience...nice food...(options in breakfast are limited!!)..a .professional courteous staff...they also have arrangements for rajasthani folk dance...overall a great choice to stay..some more properties are fast coming up...

Room Tip: choose a sunny room if travelling between oct and march..which is the best time

i stayed there for 2 nights, we reached at the hotel in the afternoon as i we started from ahmedabad at 7 am. road to kumbhalgarh is bit bumpy and curvy but when i reached at hotel it was serene experience. evening was very cozy and morning was quite shiny. hotel is well maintained and services were also good. having food at rooftop restaurant was very amazing experience.

Room Tip: go for room no. 21 and 22 as they are located at height gives complete view of property.

The hotel property is not a bad one but i think our trip was jinxed. We stayed for only one night. Our bad experience started with the online reservation. My credit card was debited but i got no confirmation. After a couple of calls / email followup from my end i got an email confirmation (that i did not bother to check). I only realized once i reached the property that i had to pay more for my son and breakfast was not included (though i clearly remember that i could not have missed out for the same while doing the online reservation). Anyway, it was futile to explain to the reception staff since they went by what was on that email confirmation.

The next experience that shocked us was a rat in our room. The staff were helpful and 3 of them came and drove it out but post that we were wary of everything in the room. It did not help our cause that we had a group of rowdy drunk people staying at the hotel who made their "presence felt" in the entertainment program (Rajasthani folk song and dance) organized by the hotel.

Another negative of the hotel is that the food is relatively expensive. A package is recommended.

Others may not have the experience that we had. There are positives about the hotel. The staff seemed helpful. The main attraction of the area - Kumbhalgarh fort is only a short distance from the hotel.

NOTE: this is a review of the restaurant at the Aodhi hotel only, since we cannot find a restaurant only entry for Kumbhalgarh area.

Many travelers do the day trip to Kumbhalgarh from Udaipur and like us find it hard to find good dining options in the area. This restaurant is the perfect answer to have a relaxed meal+drink before/after visiting the fort.

Ambiance: great ambiance - we actually sat outside since it was a nice cool day. The service is quite good - though a bit too attentive: a server actually stood at a little distance from our table all during the meal. If you sit outside, then you have a good view

The food and drink were the highlights. We are veggies and the good was great - fresh ingredients and very tasty.

A must do is drinks: apart from the usual options, a must try are the Indian cocktails infused with local herbs/spices. Kesar Kastari is very good.

Pls note that this a med-high budget restaurant. A meal for two with drinks will set you back by around Rs 1500.

NOTE TO TA: if this review is not in the appropriate area, kindly create an entry for Aodhi Restaurant - Kumbhalgarh and move this review to that listing.
