In Jodhpur, we were the guests of Bhavna Singh and Chandrashekhar Singh at their house INDRASHAN, a beautiful bungalow in a serene green area, provided with air-conditioned beautifully designed en-suite bathrooms, Internet and laundry services.

Being a group of 14 young travelers with limited budget, we were impressed with Bhavna Singh and Chandrashekhar Singh generous hospitality. The dinner served was a perfect buffet of home-cooked cuisine in a variety of non-veg., veg. dishes, snacks and desserts. Moreover, we deeply enjoyed the company of the hosts where we enjoyed a memorable moments of sharing and interactions. Looking to get the second chance to visit Jodhpur, Indrashan shall remain our first choice to stay.

We were in India February of 2012 visiting our son and daughter in law. We knew we wanted to spend time in Jodhpur and a neighbor recommended this intimate homestay. My son, who met us there for the weekend, was a bit skeptical about a homestay experience but what a wonderful surprise this turned out to be! The rooms were nice ...simple but homey and clean. Bhavana and Chandra couldn't have been lovelier hosts and on the couple of nights that we ate in, we thouroughly enjoyed our time with them and their friends too. It made for a totally different Indian experience and was a welcome change frankly, from some of the fancier hotels we had visited during our 3 week sojourn. And the food...some of the very best we had during our entire trip! We can't rave enough about the wonderful job Bhavana and her staff did in preparing delicious and abundant feast! My son who lives in Delhi and has grown to love Indian food was overwhelmed! Conveniently located yet a nice respite from the hustle and bustle of downtown Jodhpur, Don't miss having dinner at the Indique which is on the roof of the Pal Halveli Hotel. It overlooks the fort and I don't think I'm overstating it when I say it's as magical as dining and overlooking the Acropolis...it's a specatacular spot and the food was excellent. Back to The Indrashan...if you're not into big hotels and want a more authentic Indian experience, this is a great place to stay.

We stayed here in Feb 2012 having read trip advisor reviews and we'd recommend it as a place to stay. While it is a higher price than other hotels/ guest house, you also get a high standard of accommodation. We had a fantastic room, and there is a lovely courtyard where guests can relax, play games, and eat together at night. We were made welcome on our arrival and given ideas of things to do in Jodhpur. We didnt have the best experiences in the city itself, so having somewhere clean, comfortable and friendly to come home to was great.
The food is AMAZING. We ate each night with the other guests (although not always with the hosts as they have busy social lives) and also took a cooking class (expensive just to observe, but still very interesting and worthwhile) where you are given a recipe book of food you have eaten during the stay to take home with you.
If you are after peace and quiet outside of the city (10- 15 mins in a tuk tuk) then this is the place for you.

We read the reviews and took the punt. ALL true. Great home stay. welcoming, family atmosphere but not intrusive. We stayed January 2011 mid winter. Fabulous time to visit this part of the world. Wholesome food and plenty of it. Clean spacious rooms with plenty of hot water. Central but good neighborhood. Sitting around the central courtyard open fire was cosy and a great place to swap tales or mis-adventures with a hot cuppa!!!
Wonderful hosts. Our two teenage girls really settled into the snuggly chairs. Traditional decor.

My friend and i spent just the 2 nights at this lovely homestay (in March 2012) We were both made very welcome by Bhavna and her staff, we had dinner on the first night and it was one of the best meals we had while traveling around India, my friend unfortunately had an upset stomach, so only ate a little rice, but Bhavna makes this wonderful yogurt from Buffalo milk and recommended it to my friend, it did wonders for her and she was able to enjoy the wonderful breakfast in the morning, with more of this delicious yogurt! Bhavna was very kind and genuine and it was nice of her to only charge my friend half the price of her dinner, we are sure from our travels elsewhere in India, that not many people were as kind and genuine, and would do such! Our room was clean and cosy and we found this one of the nicest places on our trip, a real relaxing gem of a homestay with delicious homemade food. This is how a homestay really should be!

Pros
- Don’t worry here, you will be taken care of by Bhavna and team. All your needs will be taken care of.
- They even arrange for auto for city tour, and can give you exact pointers for shopping and good food in city.
- Don’t worry at all quality of food served at this place –its home made and very good quality and less spicy
- There were kind enough to arrange for milk + supplement for our kid.
- Very kind and nice home environment is available at this place.
- Just don’t expect the luxury of hotels and other similar things, and you will have one of the best stay.
- Arrange for our car wash (exterior) – which was done very nicely

Improvement–
Some improvement I would mention just to make this place best.
- Our room could have little more lightening, as the lamp/bulb were of less wattage.
- i know nothing can be done, but could not stop myself from mentioning - during night street dogs noise is at times on high decibel.

I stayed two nights at this wonderful homestay in Januray 2012, and have taken a lifetime of memories back with me. We had a lovely three-bed family room with a balcony. It was well furnished and very clean. The attached bathroom had running hot and cold water. The house is situated in a slow neighbourhood, and hence was immensely enjoyable in its quietness. The host and the hostess were most cordial and extended all sorts of help to us. I will be specially thankful for hostess Bhavnaji's helpful recommendations that led us to have a great time in Jodhpur. Yes, I'd like to be back here, definitely so.

Room Tip: Rooms on the top are quite private, and the one on top of the garage is a seperate unit by itself.
