USPs of this shop:
.0> Most convenient location. Just near the Nai Sarak crossing. Opposite to Janta Sweets. No need to move all the way towards the congested clock tower area ahead.
.0> Shop is open till 10-10:30 pm in night. While in daytime and evening the place if very populated and getting parking place is problem; in late evening (say after 9 pm till 10 pm), it’s cool, laidback. Crowd receeds and car parking beside the road on same foot is available.
.0> They accept both credit and debit cards.
.0> The behavior of the shop owner and his staff is very courteous, professional and polite. They are also easily approachable over phone. Do remember to collect their cards for future references.
.0> And now the main part. Refer the photographs enclosed with this review. This shop is a veritable treasure-trove of authentic Jodhpuri handicrafts. There is a dazzling array, a mindblowing stock of items. Brightly colored bedsheets, bedcovers, cushion covers, cloth items, Rajasthani dolls (small, big, large, medium), many many other colorful artifacts. Once you enter the shop, you’ll get spellbound by the riot of colors and the dazzling variety of items.
.0> It will be scandalous on my part to say, but after visiting this shop I became so contented in my quest for authentic Rajputana handicrafts that I did not even think of visiting any other places (including the interior of clock tower etc). I found Jodhpuri handicrafts much more colorful and authentic than its Jaipuri counterparts.
.0> Very reasonably priced. We purchased 4 pcs Jodhpuri print bedsheet + 2 pillow-covers in each set, one med-sized Rajasthani doll (Chowkidar), 5-6 pcs small miniature Rajasthani dolls (so cute and colorful they are) and may be some other gift items for our friends. It didn’t cost us a bomb. And yes you also have scope of bargain. But the items are of good quality and already reasonably priced.
.0> While the 1st floor (i.e. the entrance floor) stocks the handicrafts and paintings (I found the painting a bit costly though they were beautiful), the basement caters to bedsheets and bedcovers etc. So you have to cautiously climb down the stairs to basement through a moderately narrow stairs.
.0> The pack their items in nice little colorful traditional cloth-bags, which becomes another collection memoir.
.0> I found bedcovers a bit on costlier side, but the bedsheet sets (with pillow covers) are extremely colorful and reasonably priced.
.0> The miniature dolls are a must buy. And the “Chowkidars” of various models are so interesting..!!!!
.0> Just opposite is Janta Sweet Shoppe. So after a vigorous round of shopping at Ganpati, if you feel hungry, cross the road to opposite foot and have your snacks there.
