Both Hotel and current home of the existing Maharaja of Jodhpur, the Palace is a lovely hybrid of architecture, attempting to mix Rajput elements with art deco lines and austerity, the end result is a bizarre mishmash that pretty much houses (for non resident guests) a museum that consists mostly of snapshots of the Maharaja and his family as if they opened their personal photo albums and filled display cases with their old snapshots. Interesting, but not why I made the trip there. I was impressed by the view from the location, and the oddity of the architectural specimen before me, but if you are looking for a cultural experience, save yourself the time. OH, I forgot to mention, if you like Roll Royce's and Cadilacs from before World War 2, the Maharaja has a small collection you might enjoy seeing. Personally, I don't dig cars.
