We had an unpleasant stay at this hotel and I suggest you read carefully before booking it.
1. The rooms are incredibly noisy. We stayed in a budget deluxe room with balcony and the room faced the lake. The room also faced a noisy temple which woke us up at 4.30am each morning. We asked to move rooms but the only quiet rooms were in the middle of the court yard and were like cells. The bathrooms were also not renovated in these rooms.
2. The service was the worst we had in India. The front desk and restaurant staff were abrupt and unhelpful. They did not smile or make an effort to converse with us. Clearly the staff were not properly trained
3, Breakfast was terrible. The Indian food was appalling. The masala tea was too strong and cold. We gave feedback and did get another pot but with no apologies or smiles.
4. There were other small inconveniences which I wont mention here.

I have had Jodphur on my bucket list for ages and was extremely disappointed with the hotel. I did read all the previous reviews but decided to take a risk. There are not many mid range options in the centre of the city. It was not worth the risk.

This hotel needs to give serious effort to get back into competition with other hotels. The staff need to become much more friendly. The food needs to improve and the owners need to address the noise issue from the nearby temple/mosque.

You really get a special feeling making your way to your room in this property! Lots of steep stairs but we loved experiencing this history. Many special details to the rooms. We also loved the quiet sitting area outside our room. Complimentary tea in the afternoon. The rooftop restaurant and views of the fort and city are not to be missed.

We had an amazing suite at pal haveli, absolutely beautiful room, spacious, decorative and full of history. We were very happy with room and hotel location is fantastic. Only problem is quite noisy at night. Ear plugs could be a big help.

Room tip: Royal heritage suite amazing!!

Pal Haveli really is right in the centre of the action very close to the clock tower and market square which on the Sunday we arrived seemed to have most of the entire population of Jodphur milling around. However inside the haveli all is calm and the cacophony of noise disappears. We had a room that opened onto the courtyard and it was stunning. Huge dimensions, ornate decorations - you really are staying in a palace.
Roof top restaurant is a real delight with great views of the illuminated fort and somewhat surreal clock tower.
The food was some of the best that we ate during our month long trip - Dal Makhani to die for - and the chef will get the spice level to your liking.
Management and staff are all very friendly and efficient. I will never work out how they got our room service beers to us so quickly - I had no sooner put the phone down and the guy was there. Mind reading I suspect.
Anyway, great place to stay if you love heritage.

We were fortunate to be staying at this charming hotel on New Years Eve. Dinner at rooftop restaurant with lighted fort view and Fireworks will be lifetime memory. Great staff. We had room 105. A smaller room with twin beds but quiet and private. Hotel is very close to market and clock tower. A beautiful Heritage Hotel and very well maintained. Good breakfast in sunny indoor area.
