We only stayed 1 night here - and it's definitely a place I'd like to return. Absolutely beautiful - a heritage hotel. The plants / flowers were in full bloom. The room itself was huge, and we had a very nice bathroom - with plenty of hot water. Very clean too. They have very peaceful areas to sit outside in, and a stunning pool. Possibly the prettiest pool I've ever seen. They have their own cows onsite (for the dairy products used in the restaurant), and we were able to visit with their caretakers. Very friendly staff too.

Let me start by saying that there is nothing wrong with this hotel but we arrived from the Taj Lake Palace in Udaipur, so it was always going to be a tough act to follow.
What didn't impress us was the reception, perfectly efficient, but the lady who showed us to our room was just plain miserable and really left us with a bad first impression.
We had a very grand room overlooking the pool with private terrace area, but it was dark and again dare I say it, a bit miserable. The room and whole area around the pool are of a fairly recent construction and in a very odd style, more Mexican than anything else - we felt we were in some tacky themed resort, especially as the other rooms were in some sort of 'mud huts' which were more African in appearance.
The food was average to good and the open dining area very pleasant indeed, accompanied by some local musicians. It would have been great to have breakfast there, but no, we were forced to eat indoors in a very uninspiring dining room.
So in summary, a perfectly clean, acceptable hotel with reasonable to good services but it just lacked the ambiance and Indian feel we had found in all the other hotels we had stayed at during our trip.

We spent our 25th wedding anniversary at Ajit Bhavan. What an experience!! We got a room upgrade to start with. On our anniversary they sent us a yummy cake to our room. The property is fabulous & the staff were so helpful and out to make your stay the best! . The room was so uniquely done and had its privacy. I loved the view from the sit out especially in the morning. Even the choice of teas in your room is a must mention. They had some lovely cultural shows on the lawns. The choices available at breakfast were more than we could handle. Ajit Bhavan is a must do for people looking for a fairly central hotel with a touch of royalty!!

We where fortunate to be staying 2 nights at this very peaceful hotel. The rooms are all spread out around a landscaped garden with ponds and fountains. The rooms are large and very well set up. Good sized, clean bathrooms and exceptionally comfortable beds. There is free wifi throughout the rooms which are all decorated quite traditionally.
Breakfast is a huge buffet with staff who are attentive almost to a fault. Near to the breakfast room is beautiful swimming pool with waterfall and small grotto area. This seems to catch sun all through the day and we would have happily spent some time there if we had it.
The highlight of the stay was the dinner on the first night at the hotel restaurant. This is situated in the gardens on a gravel area, with wrought iron tables and chairs, interspersed with fire pits and open to the stars. Extremely romantic and with food that was amazing!

We stayed three nights and were very comfortable. The rooms are spacious with good TVs and the bathrooms are big. Ours also had a terrace out front where we could sit in relative privacy. The staff is friendly and overly attentive (we had about four waiters swarming round our table at breakfast). Breakfast is fine, at lunch the food wasn't great, but not bad at dinner (when there's also the standard live music which has the feel of being very touristy), though we mostly preferred to go out and find elsewhere in the centre of town (a short rickshaw ride away; the taxi price quoted by the hotel was exhorbitant and over ten times what we paid for the rickshaw). Next time I'd look for somewhere else (especially given the price), but you can't go wrong here if you're looking for somewhere comfortable and peaceful.

The accomodations consist of several small buildings each containing a few rooms. The expression “bar the door” really applies to my room as to lock the door from the inside, I use a wooden draw bar to secure the double doors like you would see in an ancient fort. To lock the room when I leave there is a similar bronze draw bar that is locked in place! Unlike most hotels there is no card key, but a substantial brass skeleton key on a large brass plaque. I almost need a backpack to lug my room key around!

There is free wifi available.

There are no multinational outlets in the room, so bring an adapter if not from India.

Dinner buffet is outdoors and was very nice with small fountains mixed in with the tables. A small band of musicians sang traditional folk music during dinner.

The pool is amazing, you can swim through some waterfalls and enter a shaded grotto.

There is a nice fitness center.

Breakfast buffet was indoors and also quite nice.

This lovely hotel was so peaceful. The grounds are gorgeous with lots of space to walk around, colorful flowers, & a fantastic pool area. For breakfast there was a large buffet with a great deal of variety. Our room was spacious and clean. The doors are the heavy wooden type with old hardware. It was a treat to stay there. You will need to take a ride into town. Excellent restaurant next door, On the Rocks.
