Gypsy is a small restaurant on C Road about a ten minute tok tok ride from the Clock Tower. An usher outside tries to keep people outside until seats open up. The seats roll over quickly. Ask for a bottle of cold water if you have to wait. Gypsy is worth the wait. Local people come and go often ordering the Thali Rajasthani sampler. Imagine a large metal circular tray with smaller dishes arranged including: lentils, yoghurt, paneer, rice, salad, bread, etc. It's delicious. Yes, a bit spicy unless you've been traveling for two months in India like me and have acclimated to the seasonings. Westerners come and go trying to pretend they are home by ordering faux cheeseburgers or Indian pizza both of which are disappointing to people who know what the real thing tastes like. I did order one Western delight. Gypsie makes authentic banana splits just like from home. How they do it I do not know. The speed of Gypsy is fast because seats are few and often strangers share tables in order to keep things moving. Two thumbs up for Gypsy! Make sure to stop at least for lunch.
