Mostly used for company conferences & marriages. Bed was very comfortable. Soft mattresses and spacious rooms. Very basic in amenities. Not full utilisation of area they have got. ( 27 acres ). Food is average. The entrance of the hotel looks very shady as the main gate is located right next to a liquor shop. They have only the gate on highway. There is no full frontage of the hotel. After seeing the pics on the net I was disappointed at the entrance. The looks are very grand from outside but inside is not able to match the same grandeur.

Its a nice and comfortable hotel with all amenities that one can expect from The Taj group. Having said that there are a few things that one should keep in mind. Firstly, its good 5kms away from the town and is often used for wedding functions. So it will be a good thing to check with the hotel before making your bookings otherwise you might end up finding numerous food stalls instead of the lovely peacocks strolling in their huge gardens. We escaped it just by day. Secondly, the travel desk needs lots of improvement. It was may be just our bad luck that the sight seeing advice we got was simply lame. You will be better off if you have planned that beforehand.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the Garden are good. You may find peacocks roaming outside the window in the mornings.

The location of the hotel is nice because it is a little further away from the city. The property itself is very beautiful and quiet. Service is good as well. Rooms are neat, spacious and well-maintained. Some rooms have slightly dim lighting which one needs to be wary of.

Room Tip: Make sure you check your room for lighting quality before you confirm it.

This is a functional hotel. Rooms are well equipped; however there are certain minor things they need to fix. The restrooms need a relook in terms of water flow, hot water temperature. The ambience is very good. In the restaurant, the service is very slow; food quality being very good. Again there are certain things in the restaurant like the fruit juice dispenser, which had a problem every day during our stay. Except for the little repairs, which are overlooked; this is a very good hotel. Would definitely recommend.

Room Tip: Select a "Lawn View" room.

Recently stayed for 1 night in early Nov 2011.

Location: Out of the city centre, but easy to get to attractions with car/taxi.

Hotel: Nice hotel, beautiful grounds, great staff and restaurant.

Rooms: Spacious, comfortable, clean and modern.

Staff: Friendly, helpful and always around if needed.

Restaurant: Good restaurant, wonderful staff and great food.

I've stayed at other Gateway properties in India, and this one was great (didn't give it 5 stars, as the Gateway in Varanasi was better, but not by much). The stay was wonderful and I will be sure to stay here on my next visit to Jodhpur.
