“Delicious Lassi”
Reviewed January 26, 2013

Well worth a visit - the Lassi is amazing and you can tell by the queues and the reviews.

The Saffron Lassi is lovely - incredibly sweet and loaded with sugar and flavour. You don't even nee to order, the second you walk i take a seat they just bring your Lassi to the table assuming that is why you are there.

So cheap - don't miss it...

“Don't leave Jodhpur without trying a saffron lassi”
Reviewed January 21, 2013 via mobile

The title of my review says it all. Never had a lassi like it, for 30 Rupees you can't go wrong. The other sweets looked good too but one of the lassis is more than enough sugar in one hit!

“Famed Makhania Lassi - had to be tried though not our favorite lassi”
Reviewed January 21, 2013

The Shri Mishrilal Hotel, located inside the Sardar Market area near the southern gate is quite famous locally and even in Rajasthan for their Makhania lassi drinks, which come at 30 rupee per drink. We found this place rather busy with locals and travelers, an obvious testimony to its popularity.

We arrived in the early afternoon around 2 or 2.30pm and were shown into the small dining area and served up two lassi drinks almost as soon as we had sat down. The operation is quite efficient, they try to serve quickly and turn the tables over as soon as possible.

Many locals recommended we try the makhania lassi drinks here but we actually didn't find them much to our liking. We found them sweeter than we preferred. and was wanting of the sour taste which we like about lassis. We also thought the texture was too thick, like double cream, butter cream or highly condensed sweet milk (thus they serve it with spoon). While we could see that some might really enjoy this sweet and thick version of the lassi drink, it was simply not to our liking (rating 3 of 5).

Still, we think this famous place is worth a visit for their Makhania lassi though it's not something we would order again. Plus the lassi is affordable and can be enjoyed quickly, so why not try and decide if its something you like or not? It will at least give you a reference to compare against other lassi drinks you have during your trip.

We tried another makhania lassi in the Jhanker Choti-Haveli Restaurant, which was not as good as Shri Mishrilal's. What we preferred though was the makhania lassi during our cooking lesson at Spice Paradise, which had almond and other nuts, making this a fantastic makhania lassi. This was our favorite makhani lassi drink tried while in Jodhpur.

“The best Lassi's in India!”
Reviewed January 21, 2013

This is a must for travelers who enjoy a good lassi or Indian sweets. The shop itself is quite inconspicuous, but the taste makes up for the decor ten-fold!
