This place put me in mind of old colonial military admin buildings. The rooms are dark and gloomy, big with very high ceilings and furnished with basic old furniture. Hard beds and soft towels. However it is not uncomfortable and the staff are great. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner there and found the food quite good.
Very pleasant sitting out of the sun on the veranda or in the sun in the garden.

Our tour agency booked us in this hotel after the first choice was unavailable. I must admit, we were a bit thrown after checking in. The room we had - 2 doors from the office - had high ceilings and period furniture that made us think we were back in the Colonial days. Noisy air-conditioning, small fridge, TV with satellite and a very large bathroom with amenities (shampoo etc.).

Basic but comfortable after we accepted the period we were in. There was a garden outside our room with lawn chairs and a second building further in which looked like it had more modern rooms by the pool. Alas, the pool did not look very clean so we gave it a miss.

Breakfasts and meals were at the dining room/restaurant next to our room which made it easy to access but noisy in the mornings and evenings when the cooking staff start and end their shifts - avoid these rooms if you can. Food was decent as was the staff at Polo Heritage. The dining room was decorated with pictures on the wall and trophies of past polo events and polo teams.

Free WiFi was another link to the modern world which we appreciated.

The hotel is about a 15 minute walk to a busy intersection with stores along the roads - small shops selling sweets, general stuff - nothing extraordinary - and not necessarily worth the walk - except to get water and snacks. Better you take a tuk tuk to a better area.

All in all it was charming to stay at a place stuck in another time era but if you can choose a better placed hotel, please do.

Room Tip: Choose a room in the building by the pool.

I used to stay a this hotel during the Jodhpur RIFF and it has always been a pleasure. The staff is extremely courteous and used to attend to us with food and beverages even at odds hours from 1 am to 4 am each night!

The staff made us feel welcome and the gardens of this hotel in a quiet suburb of the city were peaceful and calm. Our room had historic photographs of polo teams on the walls and was spacious with high ceilings and antique furniture. The bathroom was very old fashioned in keeping with the room and we found that we ran out of hot water which was a bit frustrating. The biggest issue for us was difficulty in sleeping as the mattresses on our joined twin beds were really hard- we accept that often beds in Indian hotels can be a bit on the hard side but these were extremely hard and did not lend themselves to a comfortable night.

Found this out from the TripAdvisor and turned out to be a great one. The Hotel is in right front of the the collectors house and have small board. It was very difficult for us to find the Hotel in the night. The front desk person was a bit slow may be because of the age. However, we got the room and they even offered to couple of them before choosing one.

The Room was very big and so was the Bath. It was kept neat and was having all the requirements for a 2 night stay. We arrived late and they were able to accommodate the dinner request we had specifically for the kid. They have the kitchen and will make what ever you want but in some time of-course.

Wifi was available selectively and the pool was good with neat water. It seems the owner stayed right behind the hotel and may be this adds to the point the way it is maintained. You will be able to see Polo cups and photos in the dinning area along with swords and other stuff.

I stayed in Polo Heritage Hotel only one night which was a pity because it would have been nice to enjoy their peaceful garden.

I got a big room upstairs with a beautiful view to the garden and the pool. The style of furniture was nice but the bathroom was rather basic. However, there was hot water. I tried to borrow a hairdryer but didn't get it because they only have one hairdryer in the hotel and someone had already borrowed it.

The hotel was not full but there were many people, including groups, still it was rather quiet.

I had dinner and breakfast in the hotel - both were ok but not special.

Polo Heritage hotel is located outside the city centre which makes it quiet but there are no services (apart from the hotel restaurant etc) within a walking distance. It's a good option if you have a car. I give four points because it was so good to sleep well after many noisy hotels. Otherwise, three might be enough.

Staying at this hotel was a novel experience. It’s a small hotel in terms of room inventory, and this reflected in the number of staff and amenities. it's a little away from the city's centre, but this is not a resort, so go figure. Also the link to polo is tenuous!

The best part is the outdoor lawn and the adjoining pool. It was great to sit in the sun, or in the shade of lovely trees if the sun got too hot.

The rooms are generally large. Our room was strange to say the least. It looked to have been put together hurriedly, even design wise, so pillars intruded where they shouldn’t have been. The beds were ill prepared, and very basic. The washroom is largish, but bring your own soap and shampoo! The only entry to a room above ours was through a spiral staircase, and it looked wobbly.

A positive was the food, especially for lunch and dinner. Breakfast was average. There is a computer where you can browse the net for free if you get in there when no one else is!

Room Tip: Rooms in the new wing
