“The good, the bad and the downright strange”
Reviewed January 20, 2013

Staying at this hotel was a novel experience. It’s a small hotel in terms of room inventory, and this reflected in the number of staff and amenities. it's a little away from the city's centre, but this is not a resort, so go figure. Also the link to polo is tenuous!

The best part is the outdoor lawn and the adjoining pool. It was great to sit in the sun, or in the shade of lovely trees if the sun got too hot.

The rooms are generally large. Our room was strange to say the least. It looked to have been put together hurriedly, even design wise, so pillars intruded where they shouldn’t have been. The beds were ill prepared, and very basic. The washroom is largish, but bring your own soap and shampoo! The only entry to a room above ours was through a spiral staircase, and it looked wobbly.

A positive was the food, especially for lunch and dinner. Breakfast was average. There is a computer where you can browse the net for free if you get in there when no one else is!

Room Tip: Rooms in the new wing

Set amid well-cropped greens in a sleepy suburb, this is a very friendly place. It was my second stay and we, as earlier, would get back at odd hours and still be serviced with a smile. The food was good as were the sitting arrangements out on the lawn. The under-used swimming pool surrounded by interesting sitting options was an added attraction for me.

Only one thing: there's a free computer hooked on to the internet, but get your own internet card if you are going to use it often.

Room Tip: Room 118 overlooks the lawn and has a nice lobby of its own on the first floor.

During a recent trip to Rajasthan, we had booked 14 rooms for an cycling event in Jodhpur.
Arrived in the afternoon and were greeted very warmly by the hotel staff.
Nice spacious rooms, I got a big room with huge balcony and sitting area in the main bedrrom and a side room with a small fridge and closet with safe. The rooms and toilets were nice and clean with all the amenities required.
Everything was nice and clean. the lawns had comfortable chairs.
Though we didnt use the swimming pool but it looked inviting as was clear.
The staff in kitchen were very accomadating. Prepared us small things as per our request despite the buffet breakfast. Prepared us dinner as per our requirment eventhough we came back after dinner was over...Very warm staff....

Room Tip: Room 108 above the dining aread....Very spacious...convenient location.....

13 of us travelled to this hotel in the month of November '12. We were given 4 rooms within the same cottage which made us feel like we had our own private bungalow with a common living room. The bathrooms were the size of the bedrooms and in one, even bigger than the room! The facilities, the service and the ambience were way beyond our expectations! A small hiccup was the lack of hot water in 2 rooms but that was sorted out the next day. One definitely cannot go there with the expectation of visiting a luxury hotel or being serviced by one. However, this and Devi Bhawan, Jodhpur are the best heritage, family-run hotels I have visited so far. The highlights here were the wonderful kitchen department who gave us excellent food everyday and the owners who were always available to help out. We were given hot food at 12am the day we reached and a lovely candle-light dinner was setup for us on the third day in the garden. The owners even allowed the children to burn crackers in their complex the day prior to Diwali. I would go back to Jodhpur just to stay and experience the peace and hospitality of this property as soon as I get a chance. Thanks to the entire team there who made us feel like family guests!

We stayed here for a night during our journey from Jaisalmer to Udaipur. the property is excellent and the location fantastic (next to IIT and DC office, amidst greenery). The room that was offered to us was very average and I came to know that the hot water was out of place only after unpacking my baggage; they supplied us hot water in buckets!! The best rooms are the ones with the pool view. The people at the front desk are least bothered on serving you better. The only person I found good was the Kitchen in-charge who was really very caring and accommodating all our requests. Barring him, the service was very average or below par.

We had a great stay at this hotel, the pool was nice with plenty of space to relax around it. The rooms were big and clean. There's even free internet provided at a computer in reception which was good - so many hotels in India seem to make you pay for wifi!

The only downside is that lots of tuk tuk drivers simply refused to take us back there from town as they claimed it was too far away.
